The best restaurant in Lecce We ate tuna tataki (my wife), a scampi and Gallipoli shrimp tartare, lemon tagliolini, and a spectacular risotto 2 desserts followed by a treat from the chef A memorable experience, a welcoming venue, spotlessly clean facilities, and a super friendly staff, the owner, courteous and attentive Excellent value for money, we paid €90 for two HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We were not too sure about the dress code as we were dressed in shorts and t-shirts. Thankfully the manager Antonio reassured me it was OK and served us an amazing lunch. Grande Antonio and hope to see you soon.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Alex Ristorante. I had a reservation for 4 people, but arrived with 3 additional guests (including children) and politely asked if they could accommodate the 7 of us. The restaurant was nearly empty, and they said yes—but from the very beginning, the maître d’ treated us as if we were a burden. He was rushing us, visibly annoyed, and made us feel like he was doing us a huge favor by letting us stay. The rest of the staff was kind and professional, but the maître d’s bad attitude was a constant black cloud over the entire meal. If he doesn’t like kids, he really shouldn’t work at a place that welcomes families. It’s a shame because I was genuinely looking forward to a pleasant dining experience after reading positive reviews about Chef Civilla. The food had its highlights—the fish was well-cooked, the prawn tartar was fresh and flavorful, and the kids’ menu had two decent options. The wine list was also solid. Still, I wouldn’t return. The maître d’s unpleasant attitude ruined what could have been an enjoyable evening.
