Excellent restaurant, delicious food, highly recommended!

We had a bit of bad luck because there was a mix-up with our order and we had to wait quite a while to be served. Despite this, the staff was always kind, helpful, and understanding, making us feel welcomed throughout the evening. In the end, we had a truly enjoyable dinner: the dishes were tasty and well-prepared, and a great alternative to the usual Italian cuisine found in the city, all at a truly reasonable price. The restaurant's real asset, however, is the splendid outdoor terrace, very well-kept and pleasant, perfect for enjoying dinner on summer evenings. It's definitely a place we'll return to.

The atmosphere is very reminiscent of typical restaurants in Greece, the food is good, but it would have been even better if Odysseus hadn't had to bring it to me directly from Ithaca, given the service times.

We split the dish: fava beans, pita bread (2), beans, and stuffed eggplant. We were full, but the flavor was so good we definitely needed another round. Highly recommended: delicious, secluded, beautiful location, and quick, friendly service. We'll definitely be back! (Meat, vegetarian, and vegan options available.)

Sapori Greci is a lovely restaurant just around Piazza Unità d'Italia that regales a very special and fresh experience of the city. It is central enough to be in the heart of the center and reserved enough to enjoy a pleasant meal with calm and comfort. It had an ample interior, but during summer it has also a very good outside dining area. They are really equipped for all seasons, because if it rains or the sun is too strong they have some large umbrellas that they open if needed. The food itself is pretty nice and at honest rate for being right around the corner of the main square. Their main courses come with plenty of side dishes, like a pita (Greek bread), fries, vegetables, etc. so they are a full meal. They cook things fresh on the spot and the quality of the ingredients is pretty good, especially the large selection of meat and starters, and the menu rich enough to offer something for all palates, including vegetable only options and many good desserts. Drinks selection is also fine, with many Greek offers, such as Retsina and Mythos beer, as well as several good after dinners like cinnamon tendura. Service is spot on and always kind and prompt, and the Greek family management is always keeping an eye that everything runs in perfect order, when they are not taking care of it personally. Last but not least, an additional point of merit for this place is that they try to highlight and remind of Trieste centuries old Greek community and its history and traditions, and it is a pleasure to see often the local Greek dance school and Greek performers playing there.

A generous 4 stars... we had the chicken skewer and it was cold, but the fries and pita weren't. I think they precooked the chicken skewers. A shame... the rest was okay, nothing extraordinary.

It was just perfect, the food, the atmosphere. And the service is brilliant, we were asked where are we from and they had the menu in our language!

Excellent option if you want something different from traditional Italian dishes. Cheerful atmosphere, generous portions, and friendly staff. You can get your coffee elsewhere and enjoy a change of scenery. I took the leftovers home and they were delicious the next day...the pita bread and the breadsticks! I would definitely return.
