Excellent local food, nice and friendly staff, traditional location and beautiful historic center

A historic restaurant in the center of Crecchio, a charming, well-maintained ancient village with beautiful views. The restaurant is small (about 25 seats) and welcoming, resembling a medieval tavern. The dishes, excellent in quality and preparation, are often a blend of tradition and innovation. The wine list is good, with a wide selection, often without a significant markup. Service was slow (we visited on a busy day), but precise and attentive. Prices were average.

Despite there being a social dinner in town and a considerable amount of work, they welcomed us into their tavern and served us (and handed us over) very quickly. Amazing first courses, quality cured meats.

The ingredients are top-quality, especially the high-mountain cheeses. Perfect dishes and reasonable prices. The ancient village of Crecchio is beautiful, and this restaurant's location in the city center is stunning. A must-see for anyone traveling in the area.

When it comes to excellent value, Taverna Ducale delivers even more. Excellent cuisine, with traditional delicacies and homemade pasta. The rustic atmosphere provides a beautiful setting when dining outside on the main street of the charming village of Crecchio. The owners are friendly and expertly help with the selection of dishes. The spaghetti alla chitarra with sausage, mushrooms, and saffron is special. The portions were generous. When the bill arrived, we were in disbelief at how little we'd spent. Prices this low are truly unheard of anywhere else.

We had dinner at Taverna Ducale by reservation towards the end of June, spending a quiet evening in the medieval village. We really enjoyed the food, especially the delicious first courses, and the cold cuts for the aperitif were also fresh and excellent. Great prices, a pleasant experience, and a highly recommended place! We also recommend a stroll through the village after dinner!

Great restaurant and we were so lucky to find such a high quality cuisine on my last day on the Cammino di Cellestino V. Such a nice way to finish a 7 days trek. Highly recommended. Also very friendly and helpful staff. We even had a pie ce of sugar imbibed in home made liquor put into our mouths!

Appena all'inizio del bellissimo corso principale del meraviglioso borgo di Crecchio, si trova questo magnifico ristorante caratteristico, al piano terra di una bella ed elegante palazzina. Il locale è splendido, molto curato e pulito, composto da una piccola sala interna ben arredata, con stupendi piatti in ceramica e pitture su radici di alberi d'ulivo appesi ai muri e grande arco in mattoni, e una sala al piano superiore. Ci siamo accomodati ad un tavolo della sala, accolti da un addetto ai tavoli molto simpatico e disponibile, che ci ha spiegato alcuni piatti del menù. Per il nostro pranzo abbiamo ordinato i seguenti piatti: agnolotti del Re, chitarra reale, bistecca di scottona, pallotta casce e ova, verdure ripassate in padella, torta ricotta e pere, tiramisù, acqua, liquore della casa alle caramelle Rossana (omaggio) e 2 caffè: fantastico!!!! Tutto straordinario, gusto ottimo, materia prima di alta qualità e cucinata a regola d'arte: che dire, tanta bontà che ci ha lasciato soddisfattissimi!!! Servizio impeccabile e rapporto qualità/prezzo più che ottimo!! Proprietario molto gentile, con cui, durante la nostra permanenza, abbiamo avuto una piacevole conversazione. Sicuramente un ristorante super consigliato, un'esperienza da ripetere assolutamente!!!
