Visited Taverna Ducale on May 2, 2022. My son, granddaughter and I were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our meal was beyond excellent. Each course was prepared and presented with great care. From the prosciutto and melon (we ordered it twice) and charcuterie, to the various main courses we had, were amazing. One of the most delightful and memorable meals I have ever had. Five stars... Can't wait to return.

The cured meats are excellent, and the meatballs are exceptional, while the pasta dishes could be improved. Good tiramisu. Local wines. Informal and friendly service in a charming little town worth visiting. We'll be back for a feast of meatballs.

What you might call a pleasant surprise.
We found ourselves at this little place, with no pretensions or expectations, just to grab a bite to eat with other people, but we left delighted by the deliciousness on offer.
Nothing particularly creative, no strange recipes, just traditional dishes, simple but prepared with extreme care and with surprising results.
As a vegetarian, I ate the "usual" pan-fried vegetables, but this was so good I could have eaten two more trays. The first courses, the cheeses, all excellent quality. Even the simple French fries on the side were superb.
The almond paste and something else I can't remember were a pleasure for the palate.
This little restaurant proves that you don't need to offer something innovative or different. Just cooking well is enough, and even a simple dish becomes a gourmet dish.
And what about the "usual" grilled vegetables? Some simple zucchini seemed like food for the gods. The quality of the ingredients is unquestionable and is the basis of such deliciousness.
Those who ate it said the meat was exceptionally delicious, as were the cured meats, all freshly prepared. The pecorino and mountain cheeses were carefully selected and had an extraordinary flavor.
In short, congratulations to the family who runs this place. We'll definitely be back, especially for the "La Testa di Minchia" grappa, which is a fitting end to a truly exceptional meal.
