A gastronomic haven in a touristy town. Most places serving fast food, we stumbled over this. Don't be put off by the few outside tables, inside is civilisation. A great selection of real food (no pizzas) and good service. Get there early as very busy with discerning customers.

we’ve decided to go to this restaurant because of high reviews, however, our experience wasn’t that good
probably, Sicily pastas are just not our thing but it was not tasty at all - pasta was dry and plain, no sauce, just breadcrumbs
the second was simply not delicious and I cannot recommend it
and plastic plates - why? why plastic, really?

Really nice location. The host was really kind and helpful. We were a group of 7 women (most of whom had previous experience in high-end restaurants) and all the dishes that came out of the kitchen were a pleasant surprise, delicious!

Delicious food. Buffalo mozzarella with guanchale, a delicious crust, pesto and tomato sauce. We licked the plate clean. We ordered squid with octopus and tomatoes. It came perfectly cooked. We shared it, but when we ate it, we realized we should have ordered two. And to go with it, a generazione Alessandro, croceferro 2021. Etna Rossa - nerelo mascalese grape. Very good. Everything 61e. I wrote a little message on Google Translate for the waiters: congratulations on the organization, good service, excellent food. And on top of everything, your care: everyone with a smile on their face and a lot of patience. Sure success.

Having shown up in Monreale needing lunch but without any idea of where to eat it, we were delighted to come across Taverna del Pavone. We arrived a little before 2pm and the outside seating was given over to a very long table occupied by an extended local family. Inside the staff were cleaning up after what seemed to have been a similar group. This sort of thing is generally a very good sign, and so it proved to be... The food was really great--very much rooted in the Sicilian culinary tradition and local ingredients etc. but clearly also involving some further thought without being fussy or over-elaborate. The people and place were really lovely too. Highly recommended!

Elegante raffinato e curato. Proprietario accogliente e gentilissimo nel consigliare le pietanze. Servizio in sala eccellente, professionale, cortese e garbato. Cibi elaborati con cura e gusto, dall'antipasto al dessert. Prezzi congrui alla qualità. Consigliatissimo.
