I went to Taverna del Gusto based on the numerous positive reviews, and the experience had its ups and downs. The outdoor atmosphere, in its summer version, is simple, and unfortunately, the white lights don't help create a particularly warm or welcoming atmosphere. However, the staff was kind and discreet, and the owner is a friendly and pleasant person, which makes the overall experience pleasant. Regarding the highlight, the food, I found the first course, tagliolini with truffle (photo), truly excellent. The wild boar stew with tomato sauce was also absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the guinea fowl with liver cream was a disappointment: the flavor was good, but the meat was a bit dry, giving the impression of not having been prepared recently. The desserts, a cheesecake and a zuppa inglese, didn't live up to expectations and didn't quite round off the meal. Finally, I found the price a bit high for the overall quality of the experience, especially considering the imperfections found in some dishes. In summary, Taverna del Gusto has the potential to offer excellent cuisine, but it needs more attention to detail in the dishes and atmosphere to justify the price.

If you're looking for a place to eat authentic, traditional local food, Taverna del Gusto is the ideal place. Fair prices, good food quality, and generous portions. The tables and ceramic plates used for outdoor dining are beautiful. Service is a bit slow, and the place isn't well-ventilated, creating a cloud of smoke from the kitchen. The owner was very accommodating to our requests and very friendly. We had scamorza with truffle, omelette with truffle, and fagioli all'uccelletto. Cacio, pepe e fave, lamb, and soups. All excellent. I don't have photos; we finished everything right away. I recommend it for a good meal!

Good food, prices for first courses are a little above the norm

First time in Deruta, a restaurant recommended by the friendly lady at the bar in the main square, located between two side streets off the square itself, two charming alleys, one of which has lovely outdoor tables. Delicious food and attentive, friendly service; from appetizer to dessert, a true delight!

We ate very well, even though we stumbled upon it by chance. Local products and recipes.

The citrus ravioli are exceptional. The pork tenderloin with Colonnara onion sauce is superb. Definitely worth a try.

Trovarsi in giro per Deruta non c'è molta scelta di ristoranti in centro. Ci siamo fidati dall'istinto e fortunatamente ci è venuto in mente di prenotare, altrimenti... Appena entrati (in 8) ci è stato assegnato un tavolo troppo piccolo che non ci permetteva nemmeno di muoverci. Prontamente ci hanno cambiato di posto e finalmente ci siamo seduti comodi. Il titolare gentile e veloce ci ha preso subito gli ordini e nonostante abbiamo tutti piatti diversi, nessun problema. Consiglio spezzatino di cinghiale, lasagna, baccalà mantecato. Le verdure grigliate così così. Unico appunto i tozzetti (4) a 6,50 euro forse un troppo cari. Per il resto prezzi adeguati alla qualità del cibo.
