Taverna del Capitano In Brenzone

We don't eat lake fish and we can't eat desserts but those who were at other tables indicated their great appreciation for the cuisine. We would have liked veal and it wasn't there but the mixed salad was wonderful. Good experience

In assoluto uno dei migliori ristoranti di pesce di lago del Garda, con ricette tradizionali ed una varietà di pesci, anche cosiddetti poveri (ma straordinari), che non si trovano altrove. Raccomandati i filetti di cavedano e triotto, le sarde di lago (agoni) in mille versioni, i filetti e tranci di cavedano fritti, le polpette di cavedano in dalsa piccante, il tradizionale sisan (ristretto di cipolle dorate con pesce essiccato) e gli stupendi spaghetti con le agole o aole (alborelle, purtroppo estinte nel Garda, che il Capitano si procura da un allevamento specializzato). Non male anche il bianco della casa: un nosiola trentino molto secvo. Indimenticabile e una tappa obbligata più volte l'anno.

An incredibly authentic experience, with perfectly seasoned fish and a nice selection of wines. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service made it a memorable visit :)

Typical place with influences from the Veronese tradition. Simple environment, not luxurious but welcoming. Very fresh fish marinated and flavored according to tradition. Delicious fried and excellent grilled fish. I recommend the seafood appetizer, fried and grilled fish. The owner is very kind and explains everything in detail about the various lake fish and how they are cooked! Dogs allowed. Highly recommended!!!

View is good. Food is meh. Service is not so friendly. Maybe because I cannot speak in Italian so I don’t feel the enthusiastic from them. Comparing with food quality and price, I would say a bit pricy. If you are going for view, totally recommend. If you are going for food and service, don’t put too much expectation.

Had lunch there today. Starter Filetto Capitano excellent. Then grilled trout fillet once, Müllerin style. Juicy and great in taste. Plus delicious fries and salad. (Salad is made from scratch everywhere here.) We have been guests there for almost 40 years and have always been warmly welcomed and served. The prices are absolutely fine. For me the best fish restaurant on Lake Garda.

This time we went home rather dissatisfied. The food was good. Both the (head) waiter and his young colleague seemed grumpy and unfriendly. No smile and no kind word. It was very loud in the restaurant and the constant barking of dogs was very annoying. One of the dogs probably belonged to the house, which I don't think is right either.

Splendid view of Lake Garda and excellent lake fish dishes cooked to perfection and excellently presented by the Captain! I have been a loyal customer for many years and recommend it to couples, families and groups! It will be a success!

Ate the tasting menu of appetizers and it was exceptional, lake fish cooked in an exemplary manner, exaltation of flavours, an ancient recipe that dates back to around 1200 to try if I remember correctly
