While searching for a good, yet down-to-earth restaurant in Malcesine, we stumbled upon this exceptional place. First, I must mention that anyone looking only for Italian classics like pizza and pasta won't find them here. However, anyone wanting to broaden their culinary horizons and experience what is typically eaten in Italy will find exactly what they're looking for here. As usual, we ordered the house red wine and a bottle of water. The wine is highly recommended. For starters, we shared the three different kinds of bruschetta. One was topped with pesto and burrata, another with tomato and mozzarella, and one with grilled vegetables. The starter alone was absolutely delicious. For my main course, I had the slow-braised pork tenderloin with peppercorn sauce, Mediterranean vegetables, and mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the lightly seared tuna steak from the daily specials menu (which features two different dishes each day in addition to the regular menu), also with Mediterranean vegetables and spinach. During and after the main course, we were simply happy. I think these dishes might not be Michelin-starred, but they go straight to the heart, and that, in my opinion, is worth so much more. The wonderful ambiance in a charmingly decorated courtyard also deserves mention. The excellent service was equally outstanding; everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful evening.

We only had a small snack for lunch. But it was delicious: vitello tonnato and three kinds of bruschetta 🥰

The food was absolutely delicious and much more creative than most restaurants in the region. All five of us ordered different starters and mains and they were all excellent! We will definitely eat here again. The garden was very cute, quiet and cool and felt much more relaxed than all the other restaurants in Malcesine.

We discovered this place by chance on our last day of vacation at Lake Garda. The picturesque courtyard, with its lovingly decorated tables, is somewhat hidden away. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was divine! We had steak tartare as a starter, braised beef cheeks with roasted potatoes, and tagliatelle with wild boar mince. Everything was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended...

I went to Taverna dei Capitani for lunch yesterday with my family because we were looking for a traditional restaurant in Malcesine away from the crowds. We made an excellent choice because the food was local and not something you'd find in a typical restaurant catering to non-Italian tourists! The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive, offering suggestions for those with food allergies. The food was truly delicious! We spent a fair amount for what we ate! We'll definitely be back!

I highly recommend this traditional restaurant located in the center of Malcesine. It features a charming and charming internal garden and a lovely atmosphere. A select menu with both meat and fish dishes offers excellent value for money. Delicious and beautifully presented dishes. The revisited Catalan cream is a unique delight. The young, friendly, and very professional staff provide fast service with attention to detail. Not your typical tourist restaurant. Well done, well done! If we return to Malcesine, it will be our go-to restaurant. Go there with your eyes closed.

The terrace is very cozy; it wasn't busy when we were there, so the noise level was fine. The food was good, but not particularly special. The staff was very friendly.
