I recently visited Taberna Calabiana in Milan, and the experience was a mixed bag. The food was good quality and the flavors were well-balanced, but unfortunately the service was quite slow. Furthermore, the prices are relatively high for the level of service offered. Overall, it's worth it for the food, but there's room for improvement in the service and pace.

For two months I lived in Milan during the Olympics, far from home, working long days and navigating a new city. In the middle of that busy time, I discovered Taverna Calabiana, and it quickly became something much more than just a restaurant. From the very first evening, I felt welcomed like an old friend. The staff here are truly special. Their kindness and warmth feel completely genuine, never forced or commercial. Every time I walked through the door, I was greeted with the biggest smiles and a sense that they were genuinely happy to see me. In a city where everything was new to me, this place started to feel like home. Soon, it became my little refuge in Milan. After long days of work, I would find myself returning again and again, knowing I would be welcomed with great energy, laughter, and incredible food. Mamamia the food... it's soutstanding ! Fresh pasta that tastes like it was made with love, amazing pizza, great steak, and dishes where you can truly taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. There is care and pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen. Nothing superfluous, just good food made well. All that at an affordable price ! For me, this place will always represent my time in Milan. Good food, wonderful people, and a warm atmosphere that made a foreign city feel familiar. And I have to say it: the best pizza in Milan. If you come here, you must try the “Jesse” pizza, a true masterpiece. Places like this are rare. Taverna Calabiana isn’t just a restaurant. everything was delicious, the staff were kind and welcoming

One of the most welcoming and delicious restaurants in Milan. You feel right at home. I've been going here for over 30 years, and the quality has remained unchanged over time, actually improved thanks to the Roggero family, number one. I don't recommend it, otherwise I'd never find a place again. 👍🔝🔝🔝 For three people, 1 pizza, 1 fillet with mustard sauce, 1 cutlet, 1 tripe, salad, water, beer, 3 desserts, and 3 coffees. I spent just over €30 per person. Absolutely average. Congratulations.

It's not just a restaurant, it's amazing! It's a wonderful place, they pamper you in every way possible, everyone is so kind and friendly, and... the food is divine!!!

What a discovery, a gem. A superb selection of ingredients, well-prepared dishes, fair prices, and portions that aren't Milanese (finally!), plus the friendliness and professionalism of the owner and staff make you feel at home. Tried for dinner with friends, mostly meat dishes, including a very tender fillet steak and a 10-star Scottish rib eye! I'll definitely be back. Well done!

Excellent menu, including white and red pizzas and excellent cuts of meat. My beef tartare, prepared tableside French-style, was divine. Prices are above average, but quality comes at a cost.
