Taverna al Ponte In Bassano del grappa

Located just before the bridge, it's impossible to miss. A small bar offering wine, crostini, and platters with a selection of cheeses and cured meats, typical of the area. The staff were friendly, and the owner was very kind, sharing some historical anecdotes about the city and recommending some interesting walks in the countryside. Pet-friendly, and prices were quite reasonable considering the location and what they offer.

We stopped for an aperitif after visiting the Alpine museum, we had some spritz and tasted their cicchetti which were really good and quality, kind staff also in the service 😁

The location is undoubtedly the great selling point: eating on the Bassano Bridge is a worthwhile experience. Unfortunately, however, I was disappointed by the food. I had ordered two French cheese samples, described on the menu as a selection of artisanal products and also shown to me by the girl in the dining room. I was therefore expecting a small, carefully curated tasting. Instead, a huge plate arrived, with so many pieces of cheese that, frankly, didn't seem to be the French cheeses promised. The quantity was so excessive that I had to ask for a tray to take home some, feeling as if they were simply trying to get rid of the leftovers. The final bill was €25 for this cheese plate, a slice of pizza-style focaccia, two small rolls, a can of Coca-Cola, and a half-liter bottle of water. If it had truly been a tasting of artisanal French cheeses from small producers, the price would have been absolutely justified. So, instead, the relationship between what was described and what was actually served left me rather perplexed. It's a shame, because the location is truly unique and deserves a gastronomic offering more in line with the expectations created by the menu.

We had coffee, which was very delicious. The view from the balcony is beautiful.

Spectacular cicchetti... Delicious... Wine 🍷 equally good... Fabulous location at the beginning of the Ponte Vecchio, fantastic view. Very kind staff.

Excellent tavern in a wonderful location

It was a great experience. Even though it was close to the bridge, we enjoyed an excellent platter of cured meats and cheeses with an excellent wine. Congratulations. Recommended.

A great stop on the Bassano bridge, this restaurant has an old-fashioned feel, with a good selection of wines, excellent cured meats and cheeses, and a river view. This is a regular stop for me every time I'm in Bassano. The owner and staff are very friendly. The place is very clean. Congratulations!
