A centrally located restaurant with outdoor seating under a beautiful arcade that connects to the main square. Excellent service and a charming setting. The extensive menu features local specialties (the gnocco fritto is top-notch, as are the accompanying cold cuts) and traditional regional dishes. Prices are in line with the quality of the food. Definitely worth a try.

In the center of Reggio Emilia, this osteria serves well-prepared dishes, both traditional and unusual. The staff is friendly and never pushy, and the prices are fair. Try it and then return. My father-in-law hadn't eaten frogs in years and was very satisfied.

A very informal and welcoming restaurant, with a friendly owner who is helpful and professional, and fast service.
The dishes are excellent, with a great selection of quality ingredients.
The tortelli, cappelletti, and gnocco fritto are excellent, the cured meats are excellent, and the lard pesto that accompanies the tigelle is special.
I didn't drink wine, but I did have an excellent craft beer.
The quality/price ratio is absolutely excellent.

It's a pleasure to return... with friends, family, or just your partner... like this Sunday lunch. The service is always impeccable. They know how to accommodate the customer's needs in the best possible way, with warmth and friendliness. That ability to perceive the customer and lightly balance authenticity and complicity of spirit... small gestures, for big emotions... for a beautiful moment of true relaxation. This is school... an education for life, not only in the kitchen but also between the tables.
And the cacio e pepe... always superb.

I had a great time at Tabarin Osteria Popolare. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and the tables in the gallery are pleasant, creating a lovely atmosphere. The classic Emilian cuisine and local wine are good. I enjoyed the gnocco fritto with culatello and the potato tortelli with guanciale, which I expected to be crispier, though. The chocolate cake was also good.
