An oasis of calm from the hoards of tourists outside. Outrageously expensive.

Once again, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo in May 2026 and had an absolutely incredible experience. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and every staff member made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The suites were beautiful, elegant, and spacious with stunning direct views of Lake Como. Every detail felt luxurious while still being warm and comfortable. The breakfast buffet each morning was delicious with a huge variety of fresh pastries, fruit, made-to-order items, and authentic Italian specialties. Easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. One of the highlights of the trip was the private boat tour arranged through the concierge. Everything was seamless, and the experience on Lake Como was unforgettable. The concierge team did an amazing job helping coordinate activities and recommendations during our stay. My only small complaint is that the fitness center could use mirrors, especially in the weight lifting area. Other than that, everything was truly exceptional, and we cannot wait to return.

Beautiful hotel and very well maintained. Several restaurant choices right on the property. Right on the water so lakeside views are beautiful. Unfortunately, typical of Italy, this hotel is not very handicapped friendly. As an American I'll never quite understand Italy's lack of consideration or accommodations for less than able-bodied individuals but that's just how this country is. So if you have problems climbing stairs beware. Not a handrail to be found anywhere.

We had a lovely stay at Tremezzo. The rooms were beautiful, the view was stunning, and the service was impeccable. They provided a beautiful cot and cute teddy for our 7 month old baby who was absolutely spoilt by hotel staff everywhere we went. The breakfast was amazing, it felt like we were in Beauty and the Beast with tables embellished with every food you can imagine leading out onto a beautiful sun drenched terrace. The lunch and dinner options were good, especially the restaurant by the water, but expect to pay a bit more than you would elsewhere in Italy. The heated indoor pool is perfect when the weather outside is a bit cold in Spring. The free 45min Thermal Experience at the Spa, with sauna views of the lake, is also wonderful so make sure you book it. Unfortunately I lost my gold necklace at the spa which couldn’t be found (and I believe was taken by another guest as the spa staff helped me look everywhere and were extremely apologetic), so just be mindful of your valuables even at a 5 star hotel. We also met another guest who had their small suitcase stolen at the platform at Como Lago train station so beware. We took the fast train from Milan to Como S. Giovanni station which was much less crowded and the hotel booked a transfer for us from there which was really easy and I believe much safer. It is also easy to drive there, the roads are pretty good and not too narrow. We had bad weather so ferries were suspended but you can easily take a ferry for a half day trip to Bellagio, which is stunning, or drive to Menaggio. We highly recommend taking a private boat cruise on the lake for at least an hour as it’s better to see all the towns and Villas, like Villa La Cassinella and Villa del Balbianello, by the lake. Villa Carlotta is also nice to visit right next door, which you can get a ticket for at the gate. If you are planning to book this hotel, then you should!

The hotel is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful and the grounds and view from the pool is beautiful. Our only issue is the food. The dinner was awful we were starving at our stay. No great options and what you are given is not 5 star food. Please change your food menu an up the cuisine. Thank you for our wonderful stay overall it was beautiful

Fantastic hotel. A real Italian classic. Superb experience all round. We had the gold plated risotto. Yes, it’s actual gold and a certificate is provided to show you are one of the few who have experienced this. The staff are superb, from senior management to waiting staff.
