Perfect dinner, few menu items, but excellent dishes. I recommend trying the different dishes by sharing so you can enjoy different dishes, suitable for vegans. Excellent wines especially from the South. I tried the artichokes, (exceptional), the chicory, the cod cannons. To conclude, the desserts are spectacular, excellent raw materials. I can't understand how I missed this restaurant that opened in 2017! I invite you to book you will be satisfied and it will also be a nice surprise for you.

Finalmente il Sud a Perugia! Io e il mio compagno siamo nati e cresciuti in Umbria, ma da anni siamo innamorati del magnifico Sud Italia e qui potete ritrovarlo. I piatti sono proposti in base alla stagionalità delle materie prime, ve ne sono alcuni anche per vegetariani / vegani e i vini sono veramente eccellenti (l’ultima volta abbiamo preso un rosso dalla Sardegna che ancora me lo sogno!). Chiedete a Raffaella e Maurizio : sapranno sicuramente come coccolarvi. Il menù presenta un numero giusto di piatti per mantenere la qualità alta in ogni portata. Noi siamo sempre andati in macchina e abbiamo sempre trovato parcheggio vicino al ristorante. Regalatevi un’esperienza qui perché merita veramente!

We returned to this place for the second time to try other delicacies. The environment is very welcoming and full of objects that can also be purchased. Raffaella and Maurizio accompany the evening with their kindness and make their passion for their work shine through. The food? What can I say... The raw materials are of excellent quality and are transformed into simple (but not too simple) dishes that enhance their flavor and aromas. There are vegetarian and vegan choices. Excellent choice of wines and excellent expertise on the part of Raffaella who recommended us, on both evenings, two very pleasant reds that paired well with the dishes on the menu (which follows seasonality). Discovered it on a Thursday evening by pure chance and now I can't wait to go back. Here I discovered that cauliflower goes well with lemon and that I will never be able to reproduce their chickpea, coconut milk and bran pepper soup at home. My partner instead had an appetizer of cannoli with cod and candied orange and a second course of beef. The small menu has a defined number of dishes to choose from and is renewed according to the season, so the quality is truly very high. The bread was also delicious! The wine list is very interesting and offers wines from southern Italy and the islands. Maurizio and Raffaella explained to us that everything you see in the restaurant is for sale (books, objects...) and that they also organize special events, distinct from catering. I finally found a restaurant that offers refined vegan dishes outside the center of Perugia. Thanks again for a lovely evening and see you soon!

We were more than satisfied and would recommend it to anyone. The tasting menu is perfect, these raw materials and the chef's combinations are reminiscent of a starred restaurant... Absolutely worth doing again!

The restaurant is very welcoming and well looked after. A warm atmosphere reigns supreme, excellent service with smiling, precise people and truly excellent food. The thing that distinguishes this place is the idea that is in the dishes, the quality of the raw materials and the preparations of a true gourmet and high quality restaurant with never banal combinations. We were amazed by the flavors. We left full and with a smile, we will definitely return when we find ourselves near Perugia.

We had dinner in this restaurant located in a pleasant little square in the semi-centre of Perugia. The menu is variable and seasonal, full of carefully researched and selected raw materials and most with the common denominator of originating from southern Italy. The cuisine, on the occasions in which we have dined there, has always been impeccable: the cooking is always perfect, the union of flavors on the palate is excellent because the chosen ingredients mix without overlapping in almost all the dishes, remaining very distinct and decisive. The service has its right times, it is not a fast food and some dishes, such as "L'ovetto" require adequate time given that it is slow cooked. The owners are of a rare friendliness and very knowledgeable in explaining the dishes and suggesting the wine to match. The "Rosso Pomodoro" dish is exquisite. The prices are fair for the excellent quality offered. If you are looking for an original place in Perugia, Sud Osteria Popolare is a must try. Book in advance. The place is very pleasant and in a modern style, with books inside to browse mostly published by the owners. The venue organizes social - cultural events frequently but for the program you need to visit their social pages.

Ambiente accogliente in cui sentirsi subito a proprio agio. La sapiente accoglienza di Raffaella e di Maurizio mi hanno traghettato verso abbinamenti di sapori sapientemente ragionati. Una coccola che vale concedersi più volte.

Sud Osteria popolare non è "solo" un ristorante... Sud Osteria è un abbraccio. Non solo materie prime scelte con cura, un menù sempre invitante e abbinamento dei vini impeccabile, ma un'accoglienza che raramente si trova in giro! L'atmosfera degli interni ricorda il calore di un salotto, ogni oggetto esposto ha una sua storia, che Raffaella e Maurizio, nel corso della serata, sono sempre felici di raccontare. Sud ospita eventi che toccano il cuore e dedica i suoi spazi alle attività più varie, sempre alla ricerca di una socialità che troppo spesso è stata messa in secondo piano. Un locale decisamente "diverso", nel senso più pieno e più bello del termine...nessuna serata sarà uguale ad un'altra, lasciatevi tentare dai consigli dello chef, cullare dall'ottima selezione musicale e godetevi l'esperienza...
