A delightful discovery (unfortunately, too late, as it will soon be moving to a more distant location).
In a Valtellina area where you expect to find only crotti and agriturismi serving traditional (and timeless) dishes, a chef preparing Eastern fusion cuisine is like finding a grain of salt in a piece of chocolate...surprising!!
You can choose from tasting menus (seafood, meat, vegetarian, and even omakase) or à la carte. The selection is wide, and every dish is a surprise. We were a couple celebrating our anniversary and opted for a special menu, ordering five appetizers (to share) and a first course each. Everything was delicious!!
The attentiveness and courtesy of the service were equally outstanding, and finally, a few words with Chef Caracciolo were very welcome. I can only thank you for the wonderful experience.

The restaurant is stunning, definitely one of the most beautiful in Valtellina. The cuisine is excellent and unlike anything else you'll find in Sondrio. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner is truly hospitable. Excellent value for money! For a unique evening, to celebrate something special, or to try a cuisine unlike anything else you'll find in the valley. Absolutely a must!

Even before sitting down at the table, you realize that the Soltojo experience will be unique: the main room is dominated by a small waterfall flowing continuously behind a large window; soft background music accompanies the entire dinner. The open kitchen allows guests to admire the precision and care the chef devotes to each dish.
We chose two tasting menus: one meat and one vegetarian, paired with two glasses of wine, a Lugana and a Capismee delle Langhe. Two distinct experiences, rich in flavors and elaborate pairings, often bold but always surprising.
For me, the poached egg in a cornflake crust, Casera fondue, and tsuyu sauce are unforgettable, as are the gyoza stuffed with amatriciana, burrata, and beef teriyaki sauce: the dish that has remained closest to my heart for the thrilling intensity of the filling.
Between courses, the chef offers his guests small treats that epitomize his philosophy: a creamy potato soup paired with a black cherry sauce, an unthinkable yet perfect combination; a mint, ginger, and lemon infusion pairs with a banana and licorice pre-dessert, cleansing the palate for the desserts.
At the end of the dinner, there's the opportunity to speak in person with Caracciolo, something not to be taken for granted: a simple yet meaningful gesture, confirming the dedication and care behind Soltojo.

What can I say... Soltojo is a guarantee.
The atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. Dining at this restaurant is a truly magical experience, the waterfall providing the backdrop for an evening you'll never forget. But the star of the dinner is undoubtedly the menu.
You can choose "à la carte" or indulge in the various tasting menus.
Each course has its own story, the dishes are created with meticulous care and precision, and the pairings will leave you speechless, not to mention the delicious welcome entrees and the small pastries to finish.
As I was saying, this restaurant is undoubtedly a guarantee.
Highly recommended.

Excellent experience. I visited this restaurant and found it very interesting: the cuisine isn't strictly traditional, but combines different influences, including Eastern ones.

A very pleasant evening, in an elegant and charming setting, with excellent quality food. We chose two fish tasting menus. The combinations were unusual, but we all appreciated them. The portions were small, it's true, but they were generous, so we finished dinner full and satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Ristorante Soltojo is a welcoming and elegant venue, perfect for a pleasant dinner. The dishes are well-prepared and tasty, made with fresh, quality ingredients. The staff is friendly and the service is attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and the price is good. Recommended!

I discovered this restaurant by chance while waiting for a youth soccer match to start. The atmosphere was refined and elegant, and the menu offered a wide selection. I didn't have much time, so I just had an excellent rice dish, the best I've ever had in a restaurant. The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
