Signora Emilia In Cento

At the recommendation of friends living in Cento, we visited this lovely wine bar to enjoy some typical Emilian dishes, especially the diced crescentine, tortelloni, and Petroniana: everything was truly excellent! The only drawback, which doesn't detract from the 5-star rating in the slightest, was the temporary unavailability of ice for the Pignoletto white wine. Highly recommended for its central location, service, wine cellar, and menu!

The passatelli in broth were adequate: not as traditional as you couldn't taste the nutmeg and the Parmesan was really scarce. The tagliatelle with rabbit ragù was quite satisfying, but the ragù didn't seem to be the best. It would probably have been better to stick with the cold cuts... Best wishes

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere... excellent asparagus-based menu... the waiter is a very kind guy... he brilliantly resolved an oversight in the kitchen...

I'm traveling for work, and I happened to wander into this place. I was greeted by Luca in a professional and excellent manner. I had a problem with the steak I ordered, but he immediately resolved it. Compliments to the kitchen, too!

We went to the Emilia Cucinoteca restaurant on Sunday, February 15, 2026, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't a positive one. When we booked, we weren't told that only the set menu would be available that day, rather than the à la carte menu. We went with the intention of ordering a few specific dishes, and when we were seated, we found out we couldn't choose what we'd come for, it was very disappointing. The service was sloppy: the first and second courses were served practically at the same time (even though we'd been warned, it's still an unpleasant experience), resulting in one of the two dishes inevitably getting cold. We asked for parmesan, but since it never arrived and we already had everything on the table, I was forced to get it myself to prevent the food from getting even colder. Furthermore, one of the plates was chipped, a detail that shows a lack of attention. During lunch, the waiters often passed by the table without clearing the finished dishes, leaving the table cluttered for quite some time. Finally, there is only one shared bathroom for men, women, and disabled guests, with a very long line and decidedly excessive wait times. Overall, a disappointing experience in terms of both management and service, which did not meet expectations.
