The roads to get there are a bit rough, but once we arrived, it was worth it. The reserve is very beautiful, and the rangers are very helpful; ranger Giovanni even lent us his umbrella.
Calamosche is beautiful.

A fantastic place that disappointed me. A vast beach overgrown with smelly seagrass. Excellent for hikers because, once you reach the beach, you can, if you're lucky like me, see herons and pink flamingos. Following the left side, about 4 km, you can reach the magnificent Calamosche beach via marked trails, visiting the old tuna factory along the way.

Spotted flamingos and took a dip in the water. Please note: it is a natural beach (washed-up seaweed).

It's always lovely to return; the sea is always that blend of azure, dark blue, green, and turquoise. The only drawback is that this year the water is incredibly warm; swimming isn't a pleasant escape from the oppressive heat. The reserve beach has access gates where you can pay with cards; no cash. There are no bars or restaurants, so bring food, water, and anything else you need.

Very nice, shame that when I was there it was too windy

Beautiful both for its natural beauty and for its restored ruins dating back to various historical periods, the sea is crystal clear. Highly recommended.

The place is definitely worth a stroll through the oasis, admiring the preserved scrubland, and generally appreciating the biodiversity the oasis preserves...or for bird watching. If you go swimming, however, be careful of the algae; they can be unpleasant.

Unfortunately today the Vendicari reserve was full of Poseidon and a bad smell.
