We had our first lunch of our 2 week Italy trip here. We loved the Margherita and pesto pizzas. My husband also got the gnocchi, which he loved. Cute outdoor spot for lunch, would recommend.

This place is tucked just off of the Corso. Great pizza, perfectly cooked fish, a deep local wine list, and fantastic service. A gem!

Had the charcuterie appetizer which was good but not worth 22 euros. We then had the gnocchi and t he lasagna and while good, I would say was average taste. Nothing special. Service was nice. This place does have a 2.5 euro cover charge.

The food was excellent, the service was great
The food came really quickly and the waiters responded positively to our requests. Overall, we really liked it.
The only thing that was not pleasant was the host who pressed us to enter the restaurant.

We ended up here by chance and didn't really expect much, as everything in Taormina is expensive and mostly disappointing. The waiters were irritated, which is understandable given the large number of tourists. The food (bruschetta, lasagna, and gnocchi) was really good, the house wine not so much. There were sometimes long waits to make the place look fuller. I would still come back for the food, though, as it was better compared to other restaurants in Taormina. Other towns have better food for less money, though.

Here, as so often in Taormina, the value for money isn't right. The waiter kept complaining about the tourists instead of bringing us the bill. The other people were also upset about not getting their bills beforehand. It felt like the place was being "kept full" to attract new customers. Still, one of the better experiences in Taormina. The lasagna we ordered was delicious, as were the gnocchi. However, they didn't really seem homemade.
The bruschetta was very tasty.
Recommended for a quick bite.
You wouldn't want to linger here.

Downtown Taormina Sicily has many restaurant choices. We wandered around and settled on a real gem. Tucked away down some stairs. Atmosphere was amazing, like we were in a movie. The manager and staff were attentive. Calamari and pizza was fantastic. Local musicians rotated thru and they added to the traditional Sicilian atmosphere. Do not miss this place. Thanks to all at Shelter restaurant.
