Schloss Hotel Korb In Appiano sulla strada del vino

The two of us stayed at the Schloss Hotel Korb from Sunday to Wednesday. The first impression was good, but the room was a bit dated. Upon entering, we could hear the toilet running, and the rain shower wasn't working. Otherwise, everything was clean and tidy. The common rooms are also overflowing with decorative items and are partly dusty and run-down. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation in many areas. The location is outstanding, and the view over Bolzano speaks for itself. A beautifully landscaped outdoor area with an infinity pool and sauna in front of the vineyards is inviting and impressive. The service is very inconsistent and dependent on the individual. From long wait times to inattentiveness and ignorance, we unfortunately had mostly negative experiences with the service. All in all, the stay was fine, but we wouldn't come back under these circumstances.

I can only recommend this place

A wonderfully beautiful place to linger and relax. It's a little oasis for anyone seeking peace and quiet, a little paradise. The view down into the valley, onto the mountains, and onto the vineyards is breathtaking. I personally booked a modern deluxe room in the new building. I'd especially like to mention Melanie from the restaurant service team, who rushes through the restaurant, onto the terrace, and into the adjoining rooms like a whirlwind every day, always with an open ear for guests, incredibly thoughtful, and always with a smile on her face. She has the restaurant in her hands, but without her it would be in limbo. A colleague from the kitchen, wearing a gray cap, does the same, sprinting up the many steps between the restaurant and the kitchen. The food is truly excellent; the rib eye is incredibly tender. I'd also like to particularly mention the delicious bread, and the crispy, fluffy brioche. Equipped with two outdoor pools and one indoor pool, the massage is also fantastic, as are the wonderfully fragrant roses in the garden. A wonderful hike to Boymont Castle with luscious cakes. I'll definitely be coming back to this little oasis many times.

UPDATE: Melanie (from Service) was present starting from the next day and she is the best. She pushes all the other colleagues and is caring, organized and just amazing. Also there was a drink next dinner as an apology. The girls from the reception (black hair / Tina, blonde hair) are also great, very helpful and friendly and do their best. Updated the rating accordingly. 11.MAY.2025: We are a full table of 10 half board guests and we're waiting in a separate room (where apparently all guests were forgotten) for over 45 minutes until someone came to take the orders. But even then it took another complaint until we got the drinks. Not even the food. Seems like major/important stuff was not available, there was some theatre event and also mother's Day. So, very poorly organized.

Unique location and very stylish outdoor area. In the castle itself, less would sometimes be more, and the rooms and public areas are somewhat dated and cluttered with objects in various styles. However, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are in good condition. The only thing that somewhat detracts from the quality of the stay is the service. Be it the receptionist who stays behind her desk at check-in and asks from a distance what you want, or the service at breakfast. At breakfast, it sometimes happens that there are no rolls left for half an hour, or that the first items are missing an hour before breakfast is over and are not replaced. For example, the salmon was replaced with pineapple pieces. That's a shame for a hotel in this category. The wellness area is absolutely fine, and the garden and the proximity to the vineyards are particularly beautiful. So, it's definitely recommended, with clear reservations regarding the quality of service and the owner's style.

We stayed for two nights with the family (2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 15) at the beginning of April. We booked through booking.com. With a hotel with 4 stars superior you have certain expectations. While you might have lower expectations for a small B&B, the criteria are of course much higher for a hotel category like this. Location: Fantastic location with a magnificent view of the mountains and Bolzano. If you're expecting a picture-perfect view, you've come to the right place. It is also recommended that you arrive by car. The hotel is somewhat remote above a small village. If you want to go to Bolzano or somewhere else, it's not that easy using public transport. Reception: very friendly reception but with a slightly long waiting time at check-in. Overall, there is nothing to criticize, but also nothing to praise effusively. It was just a check-in. What I was missing: someone to bring our suitcases to the room. We had to drag our suitcases relatively far to the room in the residence itself. Room: I can only rate the room in the residence with a view of the mountain. Both of our rooms were very old and in need of renovation. Our room door closed very poorly. The fittings in the bathroom were very worn and the shower mixer tap only worked to a limited extent. The bathroom door also had water damage at the bottom. At least the very good mattress was praiseworthy. There was also a corresponding terrace for both rooms. But you had to share this with the neighboring room. Suddenly in the morning a man from the next room was on my wife's terrace feeding his dog. Oh well. On the booking.com booking page it was also described that there was a coffee machine and chocolate. Unfortunately that wasn't available. The minibar was also empty and it was an old small refrigerator in the closet that hummed relatively loudly at night. The room was relatively cheap on booking.com. You get what you pay. Of course I had this saying in the back of my mind. But the pictures and the description simply didn't match. If you offer this type of room, you should also provide an honest description so that you are not disappointed. In summary, the two rooms were dark, musty and in need of renovation. The view was of a large mountain of earth. Pool: The view from the infinity pool was fantastic. A beautiful pool, very well maintained area with nice sun loungers. On the homepage, the pool is advertised as being supported by a solar thermal system, so that there is a pleasant bathing temperature. Of course it was only April 12th, but the pool was freezing. And when I mean ice cold, then it really was ice cold and it was mountain stream temperature. I guess 12 to 13 degrees. Beautiful weather on that day and before and the support of solar thermal energy would have been entirely possible. Here again, the description on the homepage does not correspond to reality. The indoor pool is also advertised as having a temperature of 30°. Here too the reality was different. Not 30 degrees. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet opens at 7:30 a.m. We always go for breakfast very early because we always get up early. We were in the breakfast room at 7:35am. The breakfast buffet was not yet fully set up at that time and the service staff were still busy bringing things from the kitchen. That's why we weren't able to order a coffee straight away. I then got up and looked for a waitress to take the coffee order. Here again, with 4 stars superior, I expect a certain perfection. The buffet was great. Everything you would expect. Fresh egg dishes made to order and good coffee made to order. Conclusion: Unique location with lots of space. The ravages of time in some rooms. Some service could be improved.

A nice hotel with a great view of the valley. The rooms are large but a bit old. Luckily we had a panoramic room with a view of Bolzano, otherwise we would have been looking at a vineyard. The breakfast is okay, but there is still room for improvement for 4 stars. The taste of dinner is okay, even if leaf salad with 5 blueberries is not an art. However, the waiting time is catastrophic. 3 hours for 5 courses is a no go. Said salad and bread only arrived after 50 minutes, unfortunately the always friendly service couldn't get rid of that.

This time it was closed, but I have a wonderful memory of the cuisine, location, view, service, interior design, an unforgettable dinner.

A wonderful place to relax for a few days. A dream location surrounded by vineyards. We booked a panoramic room that lived up to its name. The bathroom was very spacious, with a Victorian bathtub and shower. The toilet was separate. The property's gardens were also harmoniously integrated and offered many opportunities for rejuvenation. A major disappointment for us were the saunas, especially the Finnish sauna, which wasn't properly set. The barrel sauna never got above 40 degrees Celsius. The infrared sauna only had a back panel, which also didn't reach the right temperature. In the garden, there is a beautiful infinity pool with a breathtaking view. Unfortunately, it wasn't heated, so we couldn't use it at this time of year. There were long waits in the restaurant – we waited three hours for two courses. These were probably typical problems at the start of the season, as many of the staff gave us the impression that they weren't yet up to speed. Despite everything, a high level of hospitality was maintained. The terrace was already set up for breakfast in the morning, creating a real holiday feeling.

Beautiful hotel, great location, the staff at reception and at breakfast were very friendly and attentive, we didn't lack anything (except maybe a little vegetables at the breakfast buffet ;) ) We spent a magical weekend here, at the Schloss Hotel Korb, which makes us happy. With a view of the mountains, the panorama so vast, we felt like we were in heaven, full of contentment. The upgrade to the Panorama, a true treat, something so sublime, a true delight! Thank you! We'd love to come back :)
