I had a wonderful evening in this little restaurant in the heart of San Vito Lo Capo. The outside space has a small but well-kept veranda but it is upon entering that you are pervaded by good humor and the desire for conviviality thanks to the furnishings, finishes and lights that enhance the class that this place exudes; but it is in the large internal courtyard, surrounded by high walls and covered by sails that allow both the circulation of air and the development of the plants and trees that embellish the place full of flowerbeds that make sitting at these tables unforgettable. We actually had dinner in one of these, elegantly set and welcomed by attentive, courteous and professional staff with manners almost from times gone by and now forgotten in most restaurants. To start, we ordered the sardine pie with citrus fruits and cuttlefish medallions with ink; the first is delicate and engaging, the second is truly excellent, tastier and more territorial with a mixture of flavors that I would have liked to repeat. Next I appreciated the swordfish breaded with orange, truly plentiful and delicious in its simplicity but the apotheosis of flavor was reached with the sliced tuna with almonds, a true tale of Sicilian cuisine. The wine list is broad and rich in territoriality, demonstrating the attention to the products that this island and its people can offer. The list of desserts may seem, at first reading, sparse and not in line with the rest of the menu but it is in the chef's proposal that it is enlivened and qualified; in fact we ordered the Ferrero Roche cake and the pistachio tiramisu, a true celebration of Sicilian pastry making. To end the amazing dinner in a fitting way, the almond pastries with the fragrant and extremely harmonious passito di Pantelleria wine could not be missing. A place where inviting your loved one means confirming your dedication to her.
