San Tomaso In Milano

Excellent starters, first courses and desserts, friendly owners and waiters, highly recommended!

Our last night in Milan, a Halloween night, and all restaurants were busy, but we were craving to try a Milanese Ossobucco before leaving! So I called around and got a table at this cosy place. They were so nice to keep a table for us despite it being rather late. The ossobucco did not disappoint, densely full of flavour and the risotto was sooo creamy and comforting :) The veal shnitzel was also very good, perfect crispyness. It was a hearty meal and the portion sizes are GREAT. Three of us split two dishes and there was still food leftover, so I recommend ordering different dishes and trying them out by sharing! Vibe inside is nice and comfortable, vibrant colours. Service was great. Would definitely recommend for a traditional lunch/dinner in the heart of Milan.

Spending a few days in Milan I found this place that is well worth it for quality and price. Very good attention and service!

Tavern, good food, Italians eat during lunch breaks.

I confirm everything good that has been written. I add details that may be important to someone: Clean and well-kept crockery, mains water treated with filters, rooms not modern but very well kept. Very clean bathroom on the underground floor (the stairs down are a little steep, but accessible for able-bodied people). The cutlet is served without lemon, to be asked separately. Excellent food, excellent quality/price. To be kept as a reference for central Milan.

Great find! Lunch in a typical Milanese tavern with very friendly staff and great price! €18 for a first course, water, and a glass of wine. The menu is limited, with a choice of 4 traditional dishes, but the service is extremely fast. Highly recommended if you're near the Duomo and looking for places that aren't "tourist traps."
