We did the museum experience with tasting and lunch for €40. We were very impressed by the explanations the lady gave during the tasting, which were more detailed than those we've heard at any other chocolate museum we've visited. You can tell she's the person who created and works there. The menu was very interesting, with cocoa influences that didn't overpower the flavors and paired beautifully with everything. Excellent value, considering it's all-inclusive (water, two wines, chocolate beer, coffee), and you eat a lot of it. The staff were very friendly. Truly top-notch. Perfect location, very close to the sanctuary.

We stayed at Cioccolocanda during the Christmas holidays, taking advantage of the "Chocolate Contamination" package. It was a truly pleasant experience. The inn is a truly simple and dated place, but very welcoming. All the staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming. The museum tour was very enjoyable, accompanied by tastings of various chocolates and more. Mr. Bessone proved to be very knowledgeable, and the chocolate cake-making class was very interesting. The chef's willingness to lead the class, despite the minimum number of participants, was noteworthy. This kindness was truly appreciated. The dinner was truly hearty and tasty. The cocoa pairings of the various dishes were much appreciated. The Cioccobagno, an immersion in chocolate, was wonderful. A truly unforgettable 360° sensory experience! To conclude the stay, a generous sweet breakfast with various types of cakes and pastries. A true treat. An experience definitely worth repeating.

I think it would be a mistake to visit the town of Vicoforte in Piedmont and enjoy the local sights without having lunch with master chocolatier Silvio Bessone. Silvio Bessone is a pastry chef and chocolatier: he is more than just a master – he is a true explorer of the world of cocoa. The heart of his business is his chocolate factory, a place where magic is born: here is his chocolate museum and a small restaurant, where we were fortunate enough to enjoy his creations.

I visited the museum and had lunch at the restaurant. IT WAS UNFORGETTABLE. A wonderful lunch and a very interesting tour. I was the guide and will definitely return with other groups.

18/08/2025: Good morning, today, my mom and I visited this restaurant for the second time in Serralunga d'Alba. The first time was for a quick coffee, but today, after visiting the castle, I really wanted to go. It's hard not to eat well in Piedmont, but today I was proved right with other dishes I tried at this restaurant. Before entering the streets leading to the castle, we found this restaurant. I immediately loved the hospitality and the simplicity of the dishes—in this case, the traditional approach—with which they prepared everything. We started with an exceptional and beautifully presented Fassona beef appetizer, followed by rabbit as a main course, served with potatoes and steamed vegetables. Finally, we finished with an exceptional hazelnut cake served with vanilla ice cream, all accompanied, of course, by a delicious 2021 Barbaresco. A top-notch lunch at a good price considering the general price increases, but above all, I want to emphasize the friendliness, professionalism, and helpfulness—things that can't be taken for granted these days. We have a small dog, and they kindly brought us water on a very hot day. At the back of the restaurant, we have a beautiful terrace overlooking the Langhe. I highly recommend this place and hope it stays open, since from what I understand, it will be closed due to internal issues. I hope they resolve the situation and that this restaurant, which for me is a symbol of tradition and good Piedmontese cuisine in Serralunga d'Alba, remains open. 25/03/2026: We booked a two-night Smartbox stay, which included two two-course dinners. We absolutely loved it, and we don't understand the negative reviews. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The dinner was incredibly delicious. And breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Very romantic and sophisticated. The dishes were haute cuisine and made with fresh ingredients.
