Well, yes, I confess: I'm more into trattorias, rustic/popular cuisine, and places, so this is a different story, and I probably don't have the skills or even the palate to review such a place.
Themed dinner with a fixed menu (Baccanale 2025) and an exceptional experience from a food and wine perspective, as this restaurant truly pampers you in every sense of the word.
Each course was sublime, and the co-star of the dish (sauce, mousse, cream, or side dish) was always worth the "main character": in my opinion, this is the difference between a great chef and a... good one.
I can't mention all the courses; I choose the squacquerone and truffle cappelletti with cabbage mousse and smoked Sarawak black pepper, and an extraordinary French white wine (Les Olivettes).
Wonderful service, both in the staff and in the various off-menu extras.
If I really had to find a flaw, I would have expected a little more from the desserts, and the atmosphere can seem a bit dated.
The bill is... "significant," but that's understandable, and you have to eat here (at least) once in your life!

San Domenico in Imola is a unique place.
My grandparents introduced me to it, and when I return to Imola, it's always a thrill.
A sublime experience in every sense: from the taste, the combinations of different foods, the delicate yet bold aromas, to the visual impact of the artfully executed plating!

Me and my wife had lunch here. For us this was a fairly special occasion; were on vacation nearby and saw a relatively affordable "business lunch" that included the signature dish of the restaurant so we figured this would be an excellent way to try out a two-Michelin star restaurant. We've been to a one star twice before, and love good food and wine.
The food
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent. The signature dish, ravioli with egg, is just incredible. The aperitif was fun and cute. The other main dish, pork, was very good and hearty. The dessert was great and varied. All ingredients used were high quality and nice. It all looked very beautiful too! The service around the food was very good too, excellent explanation of what the dishes were.
My wife is pregnant and they checked any ingredients they were uncertain of with us beforehand.
The wine (and sommelier)

I'm pretty new to wine, but I do know what I like and do my research for a region beforehand. I do have wset 2 as well. With that context given, on to my review.
I had two wines; one with each of the main courses. Beforehand I looked through the book of all wines they have (out of interest) and there were some beautiful wines there for sure! A lot of local things, a lot international too. Because my wife is pregnant I told the waiter that a bottle was too much for me and if he could recommend something they served by the glass. He asked "red or white? Local?" I told him white and that I love local. He then came back with a glass, put it down saying "albana, local, from 2018" and walked away. No story about where exactly it's from, about the flavors, about why it pairs well with the food. No checking with me that I liked it beforehand or that the price was okay with me or anything like that. Before I had a chance to ask any more questions he was gone. For the second course it was worse, a server asked if I wanted a fitting wine, I said yes, the sommelier dropped by a glass of red saying "Tuscany, docg, sagniovese, 2023" and walked off.
Now, on the final bill only one wine was listed for €45. I don't know if they forgot the second or it was a price for the total (wife paid, saw the bill later). To me, given that plenty of bottles were below €100 and a lot of local wines are not very expensive, that was quite excessive. Now, I should've checked and they should've asked. You know what they say, "assume makes an... out of u and me". At the very least I would've liked some information about what I was drinking, what made it special. I've never been to a place with a sommelier/server that wasn't excited to talk about the wine they were serving.
The first wine was great, the second was generic and dull.
