Beautiful place and wonderful staff! We asked for recommendations and a local told us about this place. It is *not* the same as the Cafe. This restaurant with the same name is down a few steps and worth it! What a view! Or you can sit indoors in the cool cave. We had the burrata appetizer and the traditional lentil stew with bread is free. Then we enjoyed a homemade gnocchi and orichiette. Wow!

Wow, you can’t beat this location, overlooking old Matera. The food is delicious and the service is stellar. It’s hard to find but she. You do… it’s spectacular

The stars for me are 5 in all sectors even if my phone does not let me add them!! Before this note, I had made a real review who knows where it ended up..! I repeat in summary: welcoming place with a beautiful view..! I tried the bread meatballs, excellent! The risotto with shrimp, vegetables, saffron and liquorice was also sublime, I hoped it would never end! The service and the quality/price ratio were also good! Well done!!👏

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante il giorno di Pasqua, dopo aver prenotato almeno 10 giorni prima,molto suggestivo perché si trova all'interno dei sassi con una vista su parte dell'abitato. Menù con poche portate, prezzi medio-alti, caratteristico il dolce a forma di sfera con gelato di pistacchio all'interno e cioccolato fuso sopra, gentilezza e cortesia da parte del personale e attenzione del proprietario nei confronti di nostra figlia di 19 mesi

28/04/2025: At the suggestion of the owner of the b&b where we are staying for the April 25th long weekend, we try this place for dinner on Saturday. There are 2 shifts, 7.30pm or 9.30pm, we choose the second. Upon arrival you still have to wait for the tables of the first round diners to be free (we're off to a good start - I think). But we'll see if it's worth it.... We took a house appetizer, 2 paccheri alla Lucana, 2 pignatelle (honorable mention), 3 desserts, 3 bitters, 1 bottle of wine, a total of €135, well deserved A round of applause to the guys in the room

Area 8

21/05/2025: Precise and attentive service, with a professional and friendly staff. The location is truly fascinating, cared for in every detail and located in a very quiet area: traffic is almost non-existent, a car passes every twenty minutes, which makes the experience even more relaxing. The cocktail list is very interesting, refined and well-constructed. You absolutely have to try the gin "Area 8", an artisanal production of the place, combined with their homemade tonic: a surprising mix and of great quality. The outdoor area is pleasantly breezy, which makes the atmosphere even more pleasant, but I recommend bringing a jacket with you if you stay until late afternoon or evening. An ideal place for those looking for something special, away from the chaos. I will definitely be back!
19/05/2025: A special place where the sense of "being" takes on a truly surprising dimension. An atmosphere that is never static, always evolving. Quality food, classic cocktails or the result of the barman's experiments, but above all an atmosphere and music that always live up to expectations. I feel at home, always.
