Excellent food, excellent service!

Restaurant located near the Sassi of Matera. We spent the evening in an elegant environment created in a typical Sassi house with a relaxing atmosphere and pleasant background music. Our menu choice was that of an appetizer tasting consisting of 5 courses where seasonal products such as aubergines, artichokes, potatoes, broad beans and chicory were expertly reworked and the flavors enhanced. We then trusted Piero to suggest a good pizza and we were served the "I Sassi" pizza with mozzarella, olives, turnips, sausage and dried tomatoes which combined with flakes of pecorino and honey created a truly original flavour. Finally, Marianna accompanied us to dessert, suggesting a delicious cup of mascarpone, pistachio cream and amaretti... as the spoon sank into the cup it was a succession of tastes and sensations. Value for money ok! We will be back.

Excellent, very light and special pizza. We're not local but we understand pizzas :)
