It was our last evening in Trieste, and we spontaneously decided to go to Salsapariglia. What can I say... we wish we'd found it sooner! The owner is an absolutely wonderful person; her energy and good humor were contagious, and we had a fantastic evening. The food was the best we ate in Trieste!!! We started with several appetizers (artichokes and homemade burrata – highly recommended, and the sun-dried tomatoes were the best we've ever had) and weren't disappointed. Everything tasted absolutely delicious. We were already happy when the pasta arrived, straight from heaven. The pasta is homemade, and you can definitely tell. The sauces are divine, and the huge portions are absolutely worth the price. I'm even getting hungry just writing about it. If you're looking for pasta that will have you dreaming about it at night, then Salsapariglia is definitely the place to go!! ... Although we were absolutely stuffed, we couldn't resist the tiramisu – THANK GOODNESS!!! It was homemade and a truly divine dessert. And because that wasn't enough, we also had the Delizia al Limone and, while we were bursting at the seams, we were absolutely thrilled. We're usually a group that has a lot to talk about, but during the meal, everyone was so happy and content that no one uttered a peep. Oh, and my friend's wine was "perfetto," as she says. If you're looking for authentic cuisine, homemade pasta, and absolutely wonderful service, this is the place to be. This restaurant deserves far more attention, and we're so glad we spent our last evening there. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for this unforgettable experience.
