For those coming from out of town, it's a shame not to have it within reach! A word of advice... look for it and let your GPS guide you. It's worth it! In summer, the outdoor pergola at the foot of the castle is a sight to behold. The food? Describing the flavors is like adding pears and bananas... you have to try it, because only by tasting can you form a true opinion.

The ruins are well-maintained and cared for, although not much remains of the entire structure. It can be visited in a few minutes, and is worth it for the scenery.

A wonderful visit. Free admission, but a voluntary contribution of at least €2 per person is requested to help maintain the castle. Free parking in the area. Spectacular views of the valley.

Located in Montagna in Valtellina, Castel Grumello is a must-see just a stone's throw from Sondrio. The real magic is the walk through the terraced vineyards: a rejuvenating stroll among the dry-stone walls (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) that offers incredible photographic views of the valley. The castle ruins are well maintained by the FAI (Italian National Trust), and the atmosphere is totally relaxing. The panoramic view from the summit, suspended between the vineyards and the mountains, is simply breathtaking. I recommend going at sunset and ending your visit with a glass of local wine at the adjacent restaurant. A small paradise of history and nature!

Truly beautiful! There's not much to see, the castle, the incredible view, you can only spend an hour, two at most, but it's truly breathtaking!

You can see the town in the valley. The vast vineyards and the blue sky. It was the end of December, but the sun was shining and it was warm, so I walked around in just a sweater.
