Dream location. Recommended by colleagues and friends I decided to try it. Reservation made via text message, fast and effective response. Immediate and informal, but stylish welcome, the place was practically empty, covered with class and already set, accommodation on the terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea, divine day, breeze and silence to lull our lunch. Classic menu, finally without Q-code, few dishes on the register, but all well described, ordered quickly with water and bread served upon arrival. Homemade entrée with seaweed fritters filled the little wait for lunch, a nice Greco di Tufo framed the meal and more. Appetizers: m'buttunat (courgette flowers) with ricotta and toasted pepper mousse and simply divine raw prawn quenelle, Mbuttunate anchovies stuffed anchovies with lemon buffalo ricotta mousse, here too we reach perfection. First courses: Pacchero risotto with seafood, prawns, octopus and red datterino tomatoes, classic fish dish, good but nothing compared to the other dish taken by the wife which were stuffed ravioli of which unfortunately I don't remember the recipe, truly unique and to try. Second courses: We decided to divide a selection of grilled local fish into two, not the classic plate full of fish thrown in, but specific slices of swordfish, tuna and other well cooked and seasoned items. Desserts: tiramisu and a lemon delight, the second excellent and above all soft, two coffees and two limoncellos. Price/quality for two we paid 145 euros taking into account the location, the quality and the service I think it fits. A place not for everyone, but worth trying at least once, the only "negative" point is arm yourself with strength and will because to get there you have to go up, up and then up, but it's worth it. A piece of advice, a few more directions, for those who are not local, are necessary.

Preview: A beautiful sunny summer day, a great desire for something different from the usual "Sun-Sea" combination, we decide to dedicate it to discovering the places, flavors and secrets hidden behind our "excellencies". We are located at the gates of the magnificent Cilento between the end of the Gulf of Salerno and the Sele plain, in Agropoli in the ancient village on the promontory which from Via Filippo Patella leads up to the Aragonese-Angevin castle adjacent to the small Taverna da Zio Tatà. Location: Enchanting place at the northern end of the Agropoli promontory together with the Aragonese castle opens up to a breathtaking view over the entire Gulf of Salerno which goes from the San Marco di Agropoli seafront to Salerno. The restaurant has two locations, one inside is right in front of the entrance to the castle walls and from the street level, in ancient village style. The other outside, continuing in what should be its garden, completely immersed in so much greenery that it completely covers the summer residence from the sun. RATING: 10 Setting: Completely surrounded by vegetation, a not very large surface of about sixty meters extends inside as soon as we cross the walls of reviews which lead us inside from the village road. Part of it, the heart, is enclosed in an elegant glass structure which houses a few other tables and the counter under cover. Outside the window the very little space covered by 5 other tables close together and resting on a balcony half covered at the top by tarpaulins and by a thick and well-kept hedge that separates from the remaining uncultivated vegetation that limits the fantastic horizon of the sea, giving in under certain circumstances a too asphyxiated impression also accentuated by the humid climate of the place. The mise en place is quite sparse, also highlighted by slightly too retro red tables placed on a raised wooden platform that acts as flooring. In short, the idea is good but not clear, at times chaotic and not rewarding RATING:7 Kitchen: balanced land menu with classic seafood dishes, with seafood specialties plated well without too many flourishes and respecting the flavor which is certainly not lacking, given the excellent idea of enhancing the excellence of the excellent Cilento raw materials, such as tomatoes, vegetables and the incessant search for balance in the preparation of dishes. Perhaps the proportions that seem to hide behind the formula of "only the catch of the day" pronounced by the owners are a little too small. An evergreen recommended for everyone, the "pens with Cilento tomato", perfect in consistency and explosive in the intense and characteristic flavor of the Cilento tomato RATING: 8 and 1/2 Prices: Not high but not low either. It ranges from a first course of penne with tomato sauce €10 to a starter with "Mixed seafood in a salad" (a center-dish fillet of octopus, squid and two mussels and splashes of salmon) €18 to stuffed ravioli €22 to a second course as an excellent parmigiana (worth it) for €14. A little out of proportion in terms of size/price. The drinks, a 33cl peroni for €3 or water for €2 or desserts such as lemon, Cuban and black forest delights for €6. Prices a little too Gourmet given the quantities. Service: €2/p RATING: 7 Service: staff (father and son) very polite, non-intrusive, attentive and, if stimulated, a skilled advisor. RATING:9 Parking: There is no possibility as the tavern is located inside an ancient village and on a promontory. You must access it from the south by going uphill quite a bit by car and walking 50 meters uphill to the village. Or from the north or from the center along Via Filippo Patella up the beautiful and evocative panoramic staircase and through the village's steps go up the alleys to the castle and then to the tavern. Long and intense route to be done in stages. VOTE: n.p.

I had dinner in this restaurant on a Saturday evening in September, booking just half an hour in advance. There were two of us. The place is beautiful, elegant, intimate, near the entrance to the castle. We ordered a first course and a second course, both very good, not abundant. Good service, but a little slow. Price appropriate for the place.

Studio Pasta Paisanella

06/04/2024: Highly recommended, excellent pastas to eat on site or take away
22/03/2024: Studio Pasta Paisanella: A Rustic Retreat with Flavors to Savour, Yet Not Without Its Quirks Nestled in a quaint corner, Studio Pasta Paisanella offers a casual yet charming setting for indulging in Italian dishes. Seated outside, amidst the gentle breeze and rustic ambiance, one can't help but feel a sense of relaxation wash over. As I delved into the culinary offerings, the wooden forks felt a bit out of touch, given the charm of the setting. The small dish of mozzarella and cherry tomatoes captured the essence of freshness, a testament to the quality of ingredients sourced by the owner/ chef. However, the simplicity of the presentation left something to be desired. The bruschetta, adorned with grilled eggplant, mozzarella, and tomato paste, offered a delightful interplay of textures and tastes. Despite the unconventional combination, each bite was a pleasant surprise, showcasing the kitchen's willingness of traditional flavors. As for the pasta carbonara a classic Italian dish, while the creamy sauce and al dente homemade noodles felt a bit undercooked and were yet commendable, the liberal use of pepper bordered a bit overwhelming. In essence, Studio Pasta Paisanella exudes a laid-back charm that invites patrons to savor the simple pleasures of Italian cuisine. While not without its quirks, it's this unassuming authenticity that makes Studio Pasta Paisanella a place worth discovering the simple places to eat in Salerno.
