17/11/2025: So, it's a busy place, given the comings and goings of people for lunch on the weekend, but overall it's still nice and clean. The food is good or average for the location and the quality of the area, with seasonal produce. Service is quick, but given the influx of people, there's nothing to complain about. The girls are friendly and courteous, and the owner is very empathetic.
Our only complaint about lunch was the waiter (the only man in the dining room), who was overly intrusive in trying to tell me what to do or not to do with my growing dog. He used a loud voice and was impetuous, not suitable for those looking to enjoy a quiet lunch away from the city, especially when we're spending €50 each. That said, it's fine for a lunch out of town, but given this unpleasant incident, I don't think I'd return.
16/11/2025: Osteria della Rocca is TOP!
The kitchen has very long opening hours, and that alone is a good starting point. 😊 We arrived at 2:00 PM, were greeted with a smile, and in no time at all we had our table, which was cleaned with almost obsessive care (another welcome but not a given). We ordered, and the dishes were excellent and served promptly. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes and prices. The staff is fast, courteous, friendly, and professional. The restaurant, although busy at all hours, is well-kept and very clean. It's about a 10-minute drive from Rocchetta Mattei and is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
