Restaurant with truly excellent dishes, warm and welcoming atmosphere and fast service, friendly waiters. The only flaw is that I don't find it correct to charge for a reduced starter platter (practically half) as if it were a full one, i.e. double.

The Venus restaurant in Orta San Giulio is a true gem. We usually recommend it to all our guests who stop at our B&B Magichouse in Novara, and have Orta San Giulio among their next stops. On December 31st we had the opportunity to have dinner in the early evening. The risotto was creamy and tasty, prepared to perfection. The second course was equally delicious, with fresh ingredients and a truly perfect combination of flavours. The service was attentive and courteous. Highly recommended!

I'm reviewing the bar service because I haven't tried the restaurant. I ordered a hot chocolate which was definitely too liquid (for a Piedmontese it's embarrassing...). They do not have separate accounts and do not serve a glass of water at the table but only the bottle. If it wasn't for the exceptional location it would be an average bar with nothing special.

Delicious food and lovely service. A short wait even though it was busy, the staff remembered what everyone had ordered and brought the food out at the same time and didn’t need a reminder of who had ordered what. Little details were great, like putting the espresso saucer over the cup whilst someone was away from the table to keep it warm for when they came back. I’ve been coming here with family for a few years, and it’s such a beautiful place to sit with an interesting menu. Will keep coming back, always have good memories of Venus.

Seirass ravioli, mountain butter and black truffle, sprinkled with white truffle Seirass cheese, or Piedmontese ricotta. Not very generous serving, but abundant in flavours. It was a great experience. But sairass tastes too strong.

C'ero già stata alcune volte, ci ho portato amici un sabato di novembre ed è stata una conferma. Abbiamo mangiato molto bene, con materie prime ottime e piatti presentati con gusto e fantasia e con una vista spettacolare sull'isola di San Giulio dalla saletta superiore, dove ci hanno fatti accomodare. I risotti di zucca con blue di capra erano perfetti e "all'onda", la terrina di crema "bruciata" di parmigiano con scaloppa di foie gras e cipolle rosse caramellate era buonissima, così come l'antipasto di verdurine agrodolci. Il mio cappello del prete brasato si scioglieva in bocca ed erano molto delicate e gustose anche le pere al moscato con crumble di mandorle e crema. Buona anche la torta di Lienz (carinamente fornita di candelina accesa perchè festeggiavamo un compleanno). Ottimo il mio bicchiere di Nebbiolo. Prezzi nella media. Una conferma e lo consiglio. Excellent location by the lake. Excellent food and impeccable service.
