It's impossible to visit the beautiful Pescocostanzo without stopping at Tre Frati. The former convent refectory, transformed into a family-run restaurant over 50 years ago, continues to serve authentic, traditional, and high-quality cuisine, complemented by some highly successful innovations from the new generation of chefs. You'll also find a good wine list, naturally with a focus on the excellent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

Excellent food, really very good and beautiful location, shame about the service and the managers who I find (more than once) unfriendly, never a smile or an extra word, I understand the stress when the place is crowded, but owning a place also means knowing how to be nice or have a minimum of chatty with guests.

I had lunch at this restaurant for the first time on Ferragosto (August 15th) and was extremely satisfied. The dining room where I dined was spacious and the tables were well-arranged. The dishes were all excellent quality and generous portions, and the wine list was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return when I have the opportunity to return to Abruzzo.

We dined at this restaurant on the evening of Ferragosto (August 15th), while passing through various mountain towns in Abruzzo (Roccaraso, Rivisondoli, Pescocostanzo). We called 10 minutes before arriving and they reserved a table for two. The welcome was courteous and professional, and the food, as well as the wine, was excellent. The selection of game cured meats was spectacular, as was the homemade pappardelle pasta dish. For main course, we had arrosticini and grilled scamorza, and these, in their simplicity, were also excellent. Finally, a crunchy berry brittle was the perfect end to the meal. We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who is even just passing through.

Tagliere di selvaggina buonissima, arrosticini tra i migliori della zona.
