05/08/2025: I went to Donato il Macellaio last night with my dad and two friends, and we enjoyed the food. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. I'm writing this review, however, to warn anyone reading this not to park in the alley next to the restaurant. As soon as we left, we got back to the car and noticed that it had been broken into and everything inside had been stolen. A perfect evening, but a very bittersweet ending.
10/07/2025: Discovered by chance on social media, I have to say it was a pleasant experience. The dining room was meticulously maintained, rivaling that of Michelin-starred restaurants. The staff were very friendly, and the owner was attentive to the dining room management and always available. The food was excellent and beautifully cooked. We ordered excellent patanegra, poached egg, ravioli, entrecote, tagliata, ribs, and a burger. The prices are fair for the quality of the ingredients and the overall service. It will definitely be our go-to place for meat in Salerno. I'm not giving it five stars because, in my opinion, in Salerno, you should use Cilento EVO oil, not Apulian EVO oil, which, incidentally, vaguely resembled Pisciottano EVO oil.
