I had lunch at Lo Stella restaurant in Portofino and was truly thrilled. The dishes were incredibly fresh, with authentic flavors and a quality that shone through in every course. I ate wonderfully: everything was carefully crafted, from the fish to the presentation. The service was also impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, perfect for enjoying a special lunch in Portofino. Highly recommended, I'll gladly return!

Amazing restaurant in heart of Portofino. Great, fresh pasta with seafood and pasta with tartuffo and scampi accompanied with great local wine. You can eat with view at Portofino harbour. Very nice staff

Was rather expensive, it is a tourist spot though. Had a bottle of water, basket of bread, Mussels Marinara, and Trofie with pesto, potato, and green beans. Tried the bread before the mussels came very nice. Had olives in it soft and airy on the inside nice crust on outside. Mussels were fantastic, fresh, juicy and seasoned just right. Soaked up the liquid with the bread as I was eating. Wow👌! The pasta was cooked absolutely perfect and the pesto was amazing was a little hesitant about the potatoes and beans, but they were great in the dish. Especially the potatoes they had such incredible flavor, must be that italian soil. It was a little pricey, but worth every euro being it was my first meal in Italy.

We had lunch here and the setting is definitely a highlight—the view is beautiful and makes for a really pleasant atmosphere. The food was decent, nothing particularly memorable but perfectly fine for a casual meal. What really surprised us, though, was the pricing of the wine. There were no prices listed for wine by the glass on the menu, only for full bottles. We ordered house white, assuming it would be reasonably priced, but it turned out to be €15 per glass. By the time we had three glasses, we had essentially paid the price of an entire bottle. Overall, it’s a nice spot for the view and a relaxed lunch, but the lack of transparency on drink pricing was disappointing and something to be aware of.

Service and atmosphere were good. The food on the other hand was mediocre. Got the veal schnitzel and part of it was still raw. Showed it to the waiter and he took it and they fried it more. I'm not sure if that's how it should be done in such restaurants. Prices are definitely touristic and you don't get what you pay for. If I'm paying premium prices, I expect premium dishes. Not empty dishes or small portions. Take more but give me value in return.

Del Pippo da Ugo

29/01/2026: A trattoria serving traditional Ligurian cuisine in a historic, century-old building in Ognio, nestled in the hills of Val Fontana Buona. Enjoy a family-style welcome from the friendly and affable owner Pippo and his young, expert staff. Spectacular views of the valley await you, as you savor flavorful dishes and time-honored recipes, such as appetizers with cured meats, vegetable pies, and other delicacies. Hand-crafted first courses include ravioli with ragù and pansoti with walnut sauce, followed by tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, lasagnette, or trofie with pesto. For main courses, the house specialty is a rich Italian-style fritto misto, enough to feed two. Meat lovers will appreciate Piedmontese Fassona tartare, roast beef with herbs, veal with tuna sauce, Ligurian-style rabbit with olives, battered cod with panissette, fried focaccia filled with cheese, fried porcini mushrooms, and more. Classic desserts like tiramisu, grandma's pudding with chocolate sauce, panna cotta, and a classic tart with homemade fruit compote. The wine cellar offers a wide selection of select wines, including house wines. Generous dishes and reasonable prices! The entire group was satisfied!

La Bilaia - L'AgriRistorante

13/06/2026: The view is splendid, but the overall experience is disappointing considering the €75 per person price. While some dishes are well-crafted, the service is unprofessional and unbecoming of the restaurant's category: paper napkins and unnerving waits even just to order dessert, only to receive a knife while the plate cools. The quality-price ratio is unbalanced.
26/04/2026: I've been to Bilaia Agriristorante twice now and have always had a great time. It's a perfect place for a romantic dinner or to celebrate something special. The atmosphere is truly beautiful, especially in the summer: I recommend asking for a table outside on the terrace overlooking the sea, because it's truly worth it. The dishes are delicious and quite scenic; you can see the attention to the ingredients; many of the dishes are homemade, and you can taste it. If you book, ask for a romantic dinner (I think it was included); they'll set your table with rose petals and other nice things, very nice for the occasion. They also have rooms, but I haven't tried them, so I can't comment on the accommodation. The only thing is that the plating, especially of the first and second courses, isn't Michelin-starred, but that's okay because it's an agriturismo. Overall, a very nice experience; I'd go back. Definitely try their specialty drinks; the rosemary-infused spritz is incredible.
