For the past three years, we've spent three weeks each year on our Sardinia tour – and every year we've returned to this restaurant in Urzulei, nestled in the mountains. It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, deep in the mountains, and that's precisely what makes it so special. An absolute dream. Here, good, honest cuisine is still paramount.
This family-run business, managed by the owner's mother, radiates so much warmth. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with passion and tradition. Everything is fresh, authentic, and prepared with incredible love. In three years of Sardinia, we haven't eaten as well anywhere else. It's always a highlight of our trip and has become a fixed part of our itinerary. If you're looking for genuine Sardinian cuisine, warmth, and quality, this is the place to be. For us, it's one of the best places on the entire island. We'll be back. 🥰❤️

Giampaolo and his mother prepare traditional local dishes, mostly home-grown, they tell me, except for the coffee because it doesn't ripen :-D The handmade pasta, the homemade cured meats, all special... The flavors of yesteryear. No industrial products. Including the excellent, drinkable wine, unlike some industrial wines loaded with chemicals... Seadas with real local red prawn honey, 10+++ and extraordinary kindness. Worth a visit, we'll be back soon.

The restaurant is run by Giampaolo and his mother, who are friendly and kind. A place where you can savor the traditional flavors of Sardinian cuisine. It's worth a visit, and I hope to return soon.

We arrived here just before siesta. A classic Sardinian restaurant. A beautifully quiet location with a somewhat spectacular approach. We believe it to be a family-run restaurant. Very, very kind people who spoiled us with super delicious pasta dishes. Fantastic! Thank you so much!

The reviews are correct this is a genuine Sardinian experience
We didn’t book, just turned up at 13.10 on a Friday, there were 2 other tables of locals, 8 people in total with us..
attention the access road is very strep and there is no real parking or signage..
no menu no prices just a promise of cucina traditionnale. The room was very dark with no lights, definitely someone’s front room more than a restaurant
A genuine Sardinian lady of a certain age, arrived after one of the locals called out that she had a customer
The very smiling lady did everything, cooked served, cleared plates and sorted the bill..
there were 4-5 courses, home cooked and well presented, the local ham was delicious..
One extra dish arrived which we are pretty sure was the ravioli left over from another table, delicious.. this should all have warranted 5 stars..
when we it can to the bill the price was 33€ each, no drinks, just a bottle of water..
Maybe the locals pay the same price but I very much doubt ..
pity because it was a charming experience
