The set menu is excellent, including crescentine, fried gnocco, assorted cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables. There's a particular focus on tradition, and the crescentine and gnocco dough harks back to grandma's recipe, using less refined flours and traditional mountain fare. Among the side dishes, the marinated onion and stewed beans are particularly popular. The owner always personally attends to guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. One final note: the dishes are constantly refilled without increasing the price. You'll find the silence of the mountains interrupted during the summer by grills; no television or radio.

Hosteria del Tempo Perso

08/07/2026: I organized a surprise birthday party. They reserved a private room for us. The woman who runs the place (Simona) was really kind and helpful. The service was quick; we ordered the seafood menu. Everything was excellent, and the fish was incredibly fresh. The portions were generous. The location isn't super fancy, but the quality/price ratio is really good. Recommended.
22/06/2026: The restaurant is on the outskirts of Modena, with convenient parking in front. It looks like a bowling alley and the interior is like a pizzeria from the 1980s. Very large and with many tables, perhaps a little too close together. Paper tableware, not very pleasant for dinner. The menu is also a little too vintage with a transparent plastic booklet and A4 sheets of printer paper. The menu is not very extensive. Few items, which usually indicates higher quality. I decide on a mixed fried fish with vegetables and grilled vegetables. They bring a basket of bread and focaccia. The bread is tasty and you can tell it's fresh. Maybe homemade. The focaccia is decent, but having it is already a plus. The grilled vegetables arrive almost immediately. Quite a generous plate. Eggplant, zucchini, radicchio and bell pepper. Too bad there's no onion. Perfectly cooked, I'd say. When the fried fish arrives, I get scared. A huge, overflowing plate, at least 10cm high. A portion that would definitely fit two people. It had everything: large prawns (at least 3), rings, bluefish, tufts, carrots, and very thinly sliced potatoes. The fried food was truly excellent. Crispy to perfection. The fish seemed quite fresh. Not greasy at all. The only flaw, I'd say, was the abundance... if I may say so. I didn't manage to finish it all, but that was to be expected. The wait times were normal. The staff was a bit aseptic, but kind and efficient. The bill came to €31. €20 for the fried food (considering the abundance, it's worth every penny), €5 for half a liter of white wine, €4 for the vegetables, and €2 for the cover charge. In conclusion, a place that focuses on substance, not appearance. Worth trying again for other first and second courses.
