Ristorante Regia Corte In Matera

MAGICAL ATMOSPHERE I went to this restaurant to celebrate New Year's Eve with my partner and friends. I must say it was a wonderful experience: the venue was very elegant, the staff were polite and friendly, and the food was well-cooked and carefully presented on the plate. It's definitely a high-end restaurant, so I'd suggest white gloves for the waiters to further enhance its luxury, and I'd suggest playing some background music during dinner. But these are just suggestions; honestly, I have no complaints, and I'll gladly return.

Food is indeed interesting, some meals were not my cup of tea but a nice experience. Getting the bill took quite some time. They had a problem and apparently had to write everything by hand, didn’t receive a real bill. Strange is that they made a mistake with the bill and they “calculated” the amount with 28€ more on top. I usually never check but decided to do this time. Keep this in mind and check your bill when you go there.

Very overpriced for what you get.

All in the view ! Waiter was very caring and promised us a very good table. Unfortunately he disappeared… Value for money is finally not so good. Nice looking plates but missing flavour and taste. Could really be better. However you can really enjoy the vibe and the fantastic view.

The view from the terrace is beautiful and well worth to go there at night for that view. We had the best table. The food was good, some better some worse. I particularly liked the porc belly. The food is not in par with the level of pricing. There were quite unique dishes of the area but they can be better. The place is an upscale place and very quiet.

I think it's a top-notch location. The selection isn't overwhelming, unlike the extensive wine list, which includes some top-notch labels, though they arrive a bit late. Aside from the complimentary appetizer—a tiny piece of celery with a drop of emulsion and a drop of extra virgin olive oil—the scenography isn't very effective, a bit shabby. The other dishes have captivating flavors; my pappardelle had a truly original harmony of aromas. As is the parmigiana appetizer, which was truly delicious, strong yet elegant. I should have avoided the "shepherd's lunch." In my opinion, that's a one-course meal that doesn't pair well with any of the other courses; in fact, I don't think it even fits in with this restaurant. The service is a caress, an attentive gaze, and it's those who live their profession with all their heart. And in that enchanting silence, life, time, and love are celebrated. It's not just a stay, it's a return to something true, eternal, profound. A memory that, lightly, lingers: a fragment of eternity in the world. Recommended for those seeking not a place, but an emotion. For those who want to feel, not just see. For those who believe that love, when it's authentic, can dwell anywhere, even in the stones.

Well located in Matera with a very nice view but too expensive for what you get in the plate…
