03/10/2025: I rarely write reviews—good or bad—as I’ve always felt that my single experience may not reflect an establishment as a whole. But after spending three wonderful nights at Hotel Locarno with my wife and 3-year-old son, I feel certain that what we experienced is not unique to us, but the true spirit of this hotel.
To begin with, the property itself is stunning. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the breakfast was delicious and satisfying for all of us (including our little one), and the evening aperitivi were always a delight. Every aspect of the amenities and atmosphere was exceptional.
Then there is the location - to us, the location could not be beat.
What truly set Hotel Locarno apart, however, was the people. From the playful and warm Davide, to the kind and gracious Maurizio, to the cheerful and informative Ricardo—every single person we met radiated genuine care and kindness. The professionalism, warmth, and personal attention we received were unlike anything we’ve experienced in other hotels, whether in the US or abroad.
Traveling with a lively 3-year-old can sometimes be a challenge, yet the staff treated him with patience, joy, and understanding. It’s one thing to extend kindness to adults who know the unspoken etiquette of a place, but to welcome a young child with such generosity and grace is something truly rare—and deeply appreciated.
We will absolutely be returning to Hotel Locarno and hope to make it our home base for longer stays in the future. Until then, we will fondly remember this beautiful hotel and the remarkable people who made our time there so special.
