Prater Restaurant in Sant'Ilario di Reggio Emilia. A historic restaurant, welcoming, very clean and tidy, and with a summer terrace. I finally saw a proper restroom. Meat or fish menu. This time I chose fish. The paccheri with octopus and walnuts were excellent, and the pasta was well cooked. The ingredients used were of high quality, and you could tell. Excellent fried calamari, not heavy. Decent wine list. Both sparkling and non-sparkling. The price was extremely reasonable considering the quality. Attentive staff. Free adjacent parking. I will definitely be back.

Il Prater è sempre una certezza,abbiamo sfidato il caldo per la serata gamberi all'aperto e ne è valsa la pena. 5/6 portate di piatti fantastici curatissimi e ricercati accompagnati da buon vino di qualità. Personale e titolari sempre attentissimi a tutto per lo svolgimento della bellissima e buonissima serata. Complimenti veramente,ma ormai mi potrebbero dire che sono di parte..ah ah ah Saluti F.D.

19/09/2025: Quality dishes from the Emilian culinary tradition but with a touch of reinterpretation that ensures they are not identical to the local context...worth trying.
16/09/2025: I discovered it by chance, as it's located on a nearly abandoned side street. I've been there twice with my family in just a few months. We had gnocco fritto and tigelle with their sauces, but they also have first and second courses, both traditional and with some sophisticated combinations. I'll be back.
