The restaurant has a beautiful location with a view of the valley from the large terrace. The food selection is good for a mountain hut, but unfortunately, only a few of the dishes listed on the menu were available, and there wasn't even coffee, which is unacceptable for a mountain hut. The service was consistently unfriendly and incredibly slow, considering there were only a few guests. The cable car is currently being rebuilt and is out of service.

Reached on foot from Slingia (8b/3) A couple of hours' walk, uphill. The funicular is currently undergoing construction, but the restaurant is open.

Unfortunately, most likely due to work on the cable car, there was no electricity… nice atmosphere

Anyone wanting an excellent Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) will gladly make the climb. Extremely friendly service despite the construction. When the train is running again…

We stayed at the mountain hut on Watles and were absolutely thrilled! The food was outstanding – the Kaiserschmarrn was especially divine. Add to that a wonderful atmosphere and incredibly friendly service that made us feel instantly welcome. Even though the lift was closed in the summer of 2026, the hike was definitely worth it – we hiked up in about an hour, and it was worth every minute. A clear recommendation for anyone who loves good food and a beautiful mountain setting. We'll definitely be back!

We've been coming to Watles to ski for 17 years; our children learned to ski there, and the Plantapasch Hut has always been a favorite spot. Good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere... This year, however, we were treated so rudely by the head waitress; I've never experienced anything like it. She treats her staff terribly, too. It's just embarrassing when the waitress, who was very friendly, is yelled at like that by her boss in front of us. The waitress said it's like this every day, and thankfully the season is almost over. I don't want to experience anything like that on holiday; it's a real shame.
