We had a great time. The owner was very kind and welcoming, always smiling between courses. We ate very well, with fresh fish and truly excellent first courses. If you're in the area, definitely stop by Sciccheria.

Had the absolute delight of dining at this amazing establishment twice!
The proprietor runs his restaurant with great pride and it's reflected in the dishes he serves. Each bite was pure bliss and authenticity done with no pretentious alterations. I highly recommend La Sciccheria while visiting Ortigia.

Unbelievable food and service. My party had everything from pizza to swordfish stew and various pastas, and it was all phenomenal. Accommodated a gluten sensitive member of our group, and all of their menu items can be made gluten free upon asking. Couldn't recommend more!

La Sciccheria di Ortigia is one of those restaurants I often return to for lunch when I want to eat well in the heart of Syracuse. A refined, informal yet elegant venue, perfect for those looking for a seafood restaurant in Ortigia with authentic, well-executed cuisine.
Chef Carmelo Pugliara is in the kitchen, and his expertise is immediately evident: balanced dishes, clean flavors, and great attention to the quality of the fish.
We started with a seafood caponata with swordfish, tasty, light, and well-balanced, a successful reinterpretation of Sicilian tradition.
The seafood sauté with mussels and clams is also excellent, flavorful and plentiful, ideal for lovers of fresh fish.
Among the first courses, the Melodia spaghetti with shrimp tartare are truly remarkable, delicate and fragrant, as is the Graziella, with light pesto, swordfish, eggplant, and shrimp: a complete and harmonious dish, a true delight.
An added bonus is the service: Mr. Pippo welcomes and looks after diners with great attention and friendliness, making you feel immediately at ease.
La Sciccheria di Ortigia is a restaurant I recommend without hesitation to anyone visiting Syracuse or anyone looking for a quality seafood lunch in a pleasant setting.
I will gladly continue to return.
