Ristorante Pizzeria Il Frago In Pizzo

Restaurant/pizzeria with a good seafood menu and excellent pizza. We ordered a seafood first course, a marinara pizza, grilled vegetables, a green salad, and Pizzo truffle. The first course was flavorful and well-balanced, and the pizza dough was soft and well-risen. The only flaw is that some seafood first courses had cream added. The service was attentive and fast. Prices were reasonable.

Good restaurant, friendly people

We spent two wonderful weeks in beautiful Pizzo and, during our stay, enjoyed meals at many of the restaurants in the main piazza as well as along the marina. Out of all of them, Il Frago quickly became one of our favourites. As a family of four with two young children, finding a restaurant that caters to everyone’s tastes can sometimes be a challenge, but Il Frago ticked all the boxes. We visited twice during our holiday and even attempted a third visit, but it was so busy that the wait was longer than we had time for—a great sign of how popular it is! The menu offers something for everyone, from authentic pizzas and fresh seafood pasta to delicious antipasti and arancini. The pizzas were the standout for us, especially with the kids, who absolutely loved them. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming and accommodating, making us feel at home each time we visited. The atmosphere was lively, and despite being constantly busy, the service never felt rushed. It was also great to see diners continuing to arrive well after 10pm, with the restaurant still packed—a testament to both the quality of the food and its popularity with locals and visitors alike. If you’re visiting Pizzo and looking for delicious food, a great atmosphere and friendly service, Il Frago is definitely worth a visit. We certainly look forward to returning on our next trip.

Everything is delicious, except that they only seat 1 person at a small table. There's no room to sit, I wouldn't even say comfortable, but you can't put your plates down.

I stumbled upon it by chance, along with my husband, while strolling along the beautiful seafront a few years ago, and since then, every vacation we've had in Calabria includes a return to Pizzo and this place, where we feel at home! The food (both restaurant and pizzeria) is excellent, thanks to the quality of the ingredients, the skill in preparing the dishes, and the generous portions. Luigi, who runs this restaurant and pizzeria with his brother, Enzo, an unsurpassed pizza chef, is incredibly professional. Table service is excellent, courtesy of the capable staff, especially Mimmo and Pasquale. It's clear that, beyond their professionalism, there's a lot of heart behind everything the owners and staff do. The prices are fair. I recommend it without hesitation.

Divine place! I recommend it to everyone from the bottom of my heart

One evening we decided to have dinner at this pizzeria. The service was fast and the staff was kind and helpful. As for the pizza, unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I tried two different ones, but neither convinced me. The dough was flavorless and quite hard, so much so that it was difficult to cut with a knife. The toppings were also quite sparse. Overall, the pizza was edible, but it didn't leave a good impression on me, and I wasn't impressed with its taste.

Very good, welcoming, we liked it a lot

Restaurant on the sea, excellent food, service and friendly staff. We ate peppered mussels, baby octopus with tomato and olives, grilled fish and fried calamari. Everything was very good, good quality and good price. The owner Luigi was friendly and nice.
