We arrived here for dinner rather late, and lo and behold! Delicious traditional food at reasonable prices. Honestly, I would come back any day without hesitation.

Tourist trap? YOU bet, and we were tourists. staying at a hotel ( 3 E for a bottle of water) and walking by we were captivated by the owner argueing with an adjacent cafe owner. Decided to stay for lunch and watch the entertainment. At an adjacent table sat a downhearted family of four. their rental car had been broken into and all belongings stolen. As far as we could tell, they were fed at no cost by the owner. I think he was the grandson of the founder. For the next three days it was for lunch and dinner. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We ended up at this restaurant by accident, we were just hungry and still had a long way to the hotel. The service was nice, but we waited quite a long time for the order to be taken and then for the bill, although the waiters did not have many customers and were standing outside. The Aperol was impeccable in taste, but the menu did not include a price, which is strange - generally 10 euros for a glass. The pasta was average, the bacon was particularly unpleasant to me. The restaurant is located on a fairly busy street, but if that does not bother you, it is ok. High coperto - 4.5 euros for two people.

11/05/2025: Ho vissuto i tempi d’oro del bar Vanni ( dagli anni 60) perché nato e vissuto a via Monte Zebio. Ricordo un bar di classe e di alto livello. Oggi è la caricatura di quello che era. La nuova generazione dei Vanni hanno tentato di cavalcare le nuove generazioni , ma sono stati disarcionati.
02/02/2025: La pasticceria di Vanni è superlativa: ne ho provati tanti, ma il cornetto vegano di Vanni è tra i migliori a Roma, ha un impasto che si scioglie in bocca superlativo, unico. Anche tutti gli altri lieviti sono eccellenti. Le torte sono indubbiamente care ma ottime. Complimenti a tutti i pasticceri e a un locale che è sempre, sempre aperto ed è un punto di riferimento: non lascia mai solo il cliente.
