I've been to Osteria La Scarpetta and really enjoyed it. The place is very well-kept yet warm and welcoming, making you feel at home without being pretentious.
The owner is super friendly and approachable, making you feel at ease right away. The dishes are interesting, with very good meat and excellent homemade desserts.
Overall, a pleasant surprise; I'll gladly return.

Today I had lunch here, @osteria la scarpetta. What can I say? Excellent food, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Welcoming and especially pet-friendly. For this relaxing Sunday, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Well done, well done!

There were 20 of us here, agreeing to a fixed menu per person. The menu consisted of: cured meat appetizers + gnocco (about one gnocco per person with a single cured meat each), a trio of tortelli (about 6-7 of each), mini dessert samples (a chocolate square, panettone, and crostata), water, Lambrusco, and coffee. Total: €40. The tortelli were also good, but I think a little more could have been had for that price. The atmosphere is informal, with plenty of parking and friendly staff. Asking around, it seems the dinner price is in line with the city's standards.

I honestly think it's the best restaurant in Reggio Emilia where you can enjoy excellent traditional cuisine and not just that, where quality is served at the table in every dish. Highly recommended.
