Spectacular pizzoccheri, very kind staff

Since we didn't book, all the trattorias downtown were full, but we found this one via Google. Don't expect a super trendy place. It's a modest place, similar to those oratory-cum-bars that are a bit of a throwback, with old men sipping a caffè corretto (Italian espresso) or sitting around a table chatting about this and that while eating what they know best. The menu features a few dishes, which the waitress lists. We had pizzoccheri, which were really good. For the main course, a roast and a steak, accompanied by fries. I had a quart of wine (probably a Ronco da Cucina) and my husband had sparkling water. Everything was very good. An unpretentious place, simple, clean, a bit messy, but TRUE. We love exclusive and trendy places, but sometimes it's nice to stay somewhere that gives you what you need without too many frills. The service could use a bit of improvement.

Pizzoccheri are super good. I'll be back 👍
