A perfect dinner, between elegance and authenticity of Salento. I had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant and the experience was impeccable from every point of view. The menu is one of the strong points: interesting proposals, with three well-thought-out and anything but banal vegetarian dishes, in addition to the possibility of choosing the catch of the day and even the type of cooking desired. A rare and much appreciated flexibility. The location is wonderful: overlooking the sea, elegant but without excess, welcoming and relaxing. The outdoor garden is cared for with extreme attention, a modern homage to the classic Salento garden, among large plants, soft lights and Mediterranean details. The staff is another plus: courteous, fast and professional. Although some preparations required longer cooking, the service was fluid and punctual from start to finish. Even just sitting at sunset, overlooking the rocks, is worth the visit. But with a cuisine of this level, the pleasure is perfectly completed. A place where taste, atmosphere and kindness coexist in perfect balance.

Lo Scalo: Where the Lobsters Are Swift and the Service Is... Philosophical Lo Scalo is perched so perfectly on the cliffside it feels like a Bond villain’s lair, if said villain were into seafood, succulents, and vibes. The view? Utterly ridiculous in the best way. You don’t just look at the sea - you commune with it. Giant cacti nod approvingly, as if to say, “Yes, you’ve made it. You’re one of us now.” The menu is sea-forward, as it should be: lobsters, mysterious shell-dwellers, and other aquatic volunteers. The coffee is surprisingly excellent, possibly roasted by a monk who lives inside a nearby rock formation. Speaking of rock: Pink Floyd once dined here. And honestly, it tracks, the surreal vibe, the timelessness, the faint feeling that you’ve slipped into a dream where lunch may or may not arrive. Maybe they are the waiters now. Maybe we all are. Service, however, is more of a metaphysical concept. You’ll spend your time contemplating the horizon, your purpose, and whether that bread basket was a mirage. But would I go back? Absolutely. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been ignored in.

I was worried due to the negative reviews, but after eating here I realized people were just overwhelmed by the bill. The food is really good especially if you know what to order and get the fresh fish/lobster/slipper etc… anything fresh. I would recommend even though it’s a bit more pricey.

Se ami il mare e vuoi mangiare con un’incantevole vista, non puoi non provare questa stupenda location. Si trova letteralmente sul mare e si gustano piatti cucinati con cura e attenzione. Gli ingredienti, di prima qualità, sono mixati a regola d’arte per far esaltare tutti i sapori. Personale preparato e disponibile anche nel consigliarti la soluzione migliore da gustare e bere. Prezzi un po’ altini ma, giustamente, la qualità si paga. Lo consiglio fortemente!

The restaurant is excellent and offers sublime dishes with excellent quality products. The Chef is very good at knowing how to enhance the flavors and aromas. Very professional and friendly staff. The owners are very kind. Crazy view that frames this wonderful location. Care and attention to detail, nothing is left to chance. Chosen for a special occasion, it has become one of our favorite places. We also had the opportunity to stay overnight at their B&B which reflected their quality standards. We will definitely return.

Yesterday, my family and I decided to have lunch in this charming restaurant overlooking the sea. A unique and inimitable experience throughout the Salento area, from sea to table in the true sense of the word. A magical location, with attention to every detail which, combined with the light sea breeze and the gentle lapping of the sea against the cliff, cancels out any type of stress due to the hectic life we ​​lead every day. We were welcomed by the staff in an elegant and friendly way. The menu, in addition to telling the story of the birth of the restaurant, made up of so many sacrifices and so much passion that I recommend you all to read it because it is fascinating, presents a series of dishes in which the freshness of the fish product shines through, which can be combined with a high choice of wines. Lunch began with an appetizer of tuna tartare, and then continued with a lobster tagliolini, both with a unique flavour, as mentioned before inimitable, considering that they gave me the opportunity to choose lobsters directly from the aquarium. For dessert we were recommended the house dessert, an excellent strawberry tart, made by the owner, Mr. Pippi Longo, to whom we complimented everything. The Lo Scalo Restaurant is not just a restaurant where you can enjoy excellent fish accompanied by an excellent wine, but it is an experience that completely immerses you in this fantastic land, which is already evocative in itself, but in Lo Scalo it enchants even more. Definitely coming back.
