10/03/2024: Seldom was a recommendation by my friends more welcome! "Il Mattarello" appears to be a showcase of everything delicious Romagna has to offer from the oven and the cooking fire. We limited ourselves to buying food to take away, but you can also have your plate of pasta or the filled type of piadina which is called "crescione" on the premises. Another speciality is the so-called "tortello alla lastra", two square layers of dough with a filling in between, which is typical of the Santa Sofia area, located in the heart of the northern Apennines, between Florence and Forlì. Their various types of filled pasta, both on the spot and to take away (and to cook at home) is more food to die for. Also, the staff (who are the owners of the place) are a delight to have a chat with, and they are very keen to explain all the details regarding each type of preparation.
