Tried it in the summer. We conclude our food and wine journey in the wonderful Umbria with a pearl and with what turned out to be the best restaurant of these 2 weeks. The Cellar is a truly beautiful place, it seems to be carved into the rock, but you can also dine, as we did, in the beautiful outdoor garden. As the name suggests, the underground cellars, in addition to being truly beautiful places worthy of a visit, are also the protagonists of what is a very respectable wine list, with proposals that range across our wine offering. We had dinner with a Sagrantino from a rather new producer in the rich Umbrian panorama, Tenuta Bellafonte and their Collenottolo 2010 was truly fantastic! The dinner began with their kindly offered entrée based on tomato soup with various small pizzas (with Cannara onions and coppa), which was very welcome. Our choice went for an egg on potato cream, foie gras and black summer truffle. The dish was delicious: an exceptional balance of aromas and flavors. We then shared another appetizer because their offer of cold cuts was really too tempting and so we opted for a trio of excellent cold cuts, consisting of: patanegra joselito cut with a knife, sublime! wild pork ham aged for 6 years and speck from Val d'Ultimo Enrich Poder (from Trentino). The dish was accompanied by oven-baked goat's ricotta with truffles. Also in this case the unanimous comment was totally positive. Finally, I had an exquisite Chianina tartare with truffle, while my partner chose an excellent dish of truffle tagliolini with duck ragout. The dinner ended with some creme brulè for me and a tiramisu for her. Both dishes convinced us. The service was impeccable, helpful and professional. The chef stopped by our table several times to explain the dishes and give us advice, all in a very discreet way. In short, the place is highly recommended and the detour to the beautiful village of Cerreto di Spoleto is an absolute must.

Mi sono recato in questo locale assieme alla mia fidanzata durante un nostro week end a Cerreto di Spoleto. Il ristorante sorge al centro del borgo vecchio ed e' situato all'interno di una cantina sotterranea, ricoperta da vini pregiati. L'ingresso e' molto elegante e ben addobbato, cosi' come la parte bassa del ristorante. Il servizio offre pochi tavoli e consente poche prenotazioni, visto che in cucina si occupa di tutto solo il gestore, mentre la moglie serve ai tavoli, quindi e' vivamente consigliato prenotare perche' oltre ad un tot di persone non si entra. La cucina offre piatti tipici del territorio, rivisitati in chiave altolocata senza perdere pero' il grande gusto di una volta. Consiglierei a tutti di provare un'ottima Selezione di Prodotti Tipici che provengono direttamente dall'Azienda Pontimori, una azienda agricola locale che gestisce il ristorante: tra di essi spiccano dei salumi e formaggi di altissimi qualita' tutti provenienti dalla razza mandalica ungherese trapiantata in zona. Come secondi imperdibile l'eccellente Oca Ripiena servita con dell'ottimo pate', oppure il Campanello Brasato all'Amarone con pure' e aglione, entrambi davvero squisiti. Come dessert imperdibile la Mousse al Cioccolato. Innaffiate il tutto con un ottimo Rosso oppure Rosato di Montefalco e passerete senza dubbio una fantastica serata. Prezzi modici e decisamente non elevati per l'ottima qualita' del posto, servizio impeccabile, professionale e alla mano al tempo stesso e cucina davvero sensazionale: ASSOLUTAMENTE CONSIGLIATO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good restaurants always seem to do the simple things well and this is a very good restaurant. Short menu. Short wine list. Most ingredients sourced from an associated farm. Imaginative creative cooking but maintaining the integrity of Umbrian food. Friendly management. Stunning views. What's not to love

Salve il 2 settembre (prenotazione a nome Valerio Fabretti) abbiamo mangiato per la prima volta a "La Cantina".Appena ci siamo seduti nel giardino siamo stati accolti da un panorama fantastico , i monti della Valnerina ricoperti di boschi di un verde incredibile. Siamo stati ricevuti con estrema gentilezza e serviti con piatti della tradizione umbra, particolarmente curati nella presentazione e preparati con prodotti della loro azienda agricola, carni formaggi ecc. Sono rimasto estasiato dalla cucina di Luigi, che già conoscevo e a cui abbiamo dovuto rinunciare per un po' per un cambio gestione Tornata nuovamente la gestione a Luigi e alla moglie ed ecco tornata l'ottima cucina a borgo cerreto Mangiato benissimo dall antipasto con dei salumi pregiati - al dolce ( una mousse al cioccolato deliziosa ) Un abbraccio paolo

Dopo aver letto tutte le belle recensioni ho prenotato alla Cantina. Eravamo in 2 adulti più nostra figlia di 2 anni, abbiamo preso una degustazione di salumi, un primo, 2 secondi e 2 dolci con un calice di vino rosso. Conto onestissimo, ci hanno regalato il primo per la bambina, servizio eccellente, portate ottime, location bellissima. Quando torneremo in zona sicuramente torneremo. Complimenti.
