We've been going to the beach in Porto Potenza Picena for years, but we'd never been to Il Pontino restaurant. Yesterday, the last day of our vacation, we decided to close out the summer season with dinner at the restaurant. Some friends had told us about Il Pontino for a baptism celebration, so we made a reservation yesterday. The location isn't ideal: right next to the train tracks and on a side street. The restaurant is small but minimalist and well-maintained. The young, friendly staff were quick to accommodate our requests (it wasn't a hot evening, so there was a large fan directed at our assigned table, which was quickly moved). We ordered appetizers: mussels in a stew and fish-filled olives (a pleasant discovery), fish ravioli, and mixed fried fish. The dishes offered make you forget the passing train, the noise of people, and the passing cars. The presentation is also noteworthy. The wine list is also well-curated. Among the desserts, the Cuneese is fabulous. Personally, I wouldn't keep the window overlooking the road and train tracks open. A different ventilation system could make all the difference!

We've been frequenting the area for over 5 years... never been to this restaurant, but tried it on the recommendation of a friend.

Don't be fooled by the location (near the train station).
Upon entering, a pleasant surprise: a clean, intimate place with just the right details, without too many frills.
Service was smiling and attentive to our every request.
There were 5 of us, and we ordered a plate of seared calamari that melted in our mouths (the best I've ever had in my life!!), a plate of very light, super-crunchy mixed fried fish, and SUBLIME fish.
For the main course, the "Pinataccia" (their MUST) with artisanal egg tagliatelle (nice and thick, just the way I like them!), and very fresh fish: mussels, clams, scampi, prawns, cuttlefish, and monkfish.
To finish, a delicious pink chocolate and berry cube.
All accompanied by local wine, coffee, and liqueurs.

My only regret is not going sooner... but it will definitely become a regular stop on our vacation!!!

There were 5 of us, lunch full of sauces, zero fish flavour, tasteless, I happened upon it by chance but I've never eaten so badly... awful

After so many years, the quality remains consistent. It's a shame that the Porto Potenza Picena stage doesn't showcase what has become a favorite spot for us.
The chitarrina alla marinara is always tasty and perfectly executed, as is the mixed grill. Not to mention the raw fish...

Let's hope those from the famous guide don't stop by to give it one star otherwise it will then become unattainable for us mortals. Let's start with the kindness of the service, we really liked it especially for those who are now used to a very aseptic service. The dishes are very good, balanced, without ever exceeding the flavors and tones. You have to go.
Small note on tiramisu, finally someone who has understood that if you "build" it yourself, giving excellent ingredients it will always be the best tiramisu you have eaten!
