Oh my word! What an amazing Gem of a restaurant to find in Northern Italy. We all know how good the Italians are at doing food, but when they combine that with a heartfelt welcome, fabulous tasting food and a genuine passion for sharing their talent for making your meal the best it can be, you know you are in for a treat. A restaurant that has been serving great food for 42 years and continues to be excited at the prospect of entertaining new guests realy has to be on your bucket list. Introduced to an amazing red wine that went with every course and polished off with a grappa from the same grape, combined to produce a fabulous evening. The restaurant is very close to the Retici Balzi Wine Hotel. I had an appetizer of typical Valtellina cured meats and sciatt. For my first course, I had pizzoccheri, and I must say I was very satisfied. The view and location are beautiful, and the service is very friendly—a truly beautiful mountain restaurant!

I’m 48 years old and just had the best meal of my life. The ambience was amazing. The staff was perfect. And the food was exceptional. Kudos to Il Poggio for creating the most perfect dining experience.

Great food and beautiful view of the Poggiridenti Piano from the patio dining area. We had the ravioli and the rosemary beef dish. Both were amazing in both quality and presentation, especially considering the €25 prices. The serving size was perfect for the beef but small for the ravioli. I also highly recommend the chocolate cake dessert.

Sono stato al Poggio un sabato sera di maggio. Prenotato alle 21:30, appena arrivati siamo stati accolti e accompagnati al tavolo, senza tempi di attesa. Il locale è molto bello, ben arredato e pulito. Interni in legno, tavoli robusti e di qualità, bella l'idea di una tovaglietta per ogni cliente invece di una unica su tutto il tavolo. L'illuminazione ottima, presenti finestroni che affacciano sulle vigne e su Sondrio, non essendo giorno non abbiamo potuto ammirare il panorama più di un tot. Mi ha colpito la stanza tutta in legno, veramente caratteristica. Insomma, location bella, nulla da dire. Il menù è piuttosto vario, ben strutturato, indica gli allergeni e in alcuni casi anche il vino consigliato. Il servizio è veloce, il personale disponibile e anche simpatico (uno dei camerieri in particolare). Ho preso "Le delizie del Poggio", che contiene un assaggio di tutti gli altri antipasti, nulla che mi abbia colpito particolarmente. Mi sono spinto poi sui pizzoccheri della Valtellina, che non erano indicati sul menù ma trovandoli su uno dei due menù fissi disponibili li ho chiesti e me li hanno portati. Abbondanti ma anche in questo caso non sono rimasto colpito. Assaggiato anche l'orzetto, sono contento di non averlo preso perché avrei fatto fatica a finirlo, non sono un amante. Super consigliati gli gnocchetti ai mirtilli gratinati, quelli meritano. Buono anche lo tzigroiner, ma non così tanto e in quantità da giustificare il prezzo. Come vino abbiamo scelto il Vesper della Valtellina, merita veramente. Tirando le somme, bello il locale ma pochi piatti sono degni di nota. 45€ a testa.

Impecable. No te sirven, te atienden, como si tu sola presencia fuera un pequeño milagro. ¿La comida? No solo llega en bandeja. Surge, compuesta con una confianza tranquila, devastadora, como si el chef hubiera vencido a los dioses del valle en alguna prueba culinaria y ahora alimenta solo a los dignos. Mientras que los establecimientos más pequeños luchan por impresionar con tendencias y trucos, il poggio ofrece soberanía. Una vez que hayas comido aquí, también lo sabrás. Todo lo que pensabas que era "excelente" antes era solo el valle hablando. Hay que recordar que cenar aquí: algunos lugares son simplemente distantes. No marginalmente. No discutiblemente. Sin disculpas, completamente.
