Amazing. Stayed here as part of our honeymoon road trip through Greece and Italy in August 2023 and this was one of the favorite parts of the trip! Restaurant is fantastic, scenery was peaceful and beautiful, great location for day trips throughout Tuscany. Close to Cortona for some evening dinner + drinks in the city itself, highly recommended!

I would like to point out that the 4 stars in the review derive from the total disappointment of the dinner at the hotel's starred restaurant and the breakfast. Beautiful room and structure, well-trained and very courteous staff. Absolutely NO dinner! We chose fish tasting menus with matching wines. Unfortunately, only the service and the wines were saved from the evening; a journey through different Italian labels, truly very interesting. Dishes without structure and identity, the fish never the protagonist of the dish, a saffron risotto with cuttlefish ink and calamari that is truly terrible. Basically white rice with saffron. Also very disappointed with the breakfast, nothing special and standard products. Breakfast below expectations, products offered within the norm. Extra eggs for a fee unacceptable! In a 5 star hotel it seems like the minimum to have an express egg service included in the price.

We had the tasting menu and wine pairing which was excellent. The setting is stunning and the service very good. We really enjoyed the entire experience!

Perhaps it was because we had such fun time at the cooking class here that the restaurant ended up feeling just ok. The highlights were actually the small bar where we had cocktails and sat in a nice sitting area. Service was good if a little stiff. It was one of the few places in Italy where it seemed we were guided towards more expensive wines. Having said that the list was very nice and worth a splurge. Food was good but the standout was the whole pigeon. The Amberjack was not good. The Osso Bucco was very good. The wild boar disappointed. It really is a place that benefits from experience. I would definitely go again knowing what items were more appealing and which less.
