Ristorante Il Desco In Verona

One of the best Michelin-starred restaurants. The service, atmosphere, and especially the food were outstanding, with every flavor standing out beautifully. Usually, desserts leave me disappointed, but not this time, the final course was flawless. This is the restaurant I’ve been recommending to friends visiting Verona over the past year. Complimenti!

We certainly had high expectations for a restaurant that has held a Michelin star for so long – but overall, these expectations weren't entirely met. It wasn't the food, as each individual course was beautifully presented and featured high-quality ingredients and refinement. Perhaps the portions were almost a bit too large, but that's always something to argue about. What bothered us was the pace. The wine was served parallel to the aperitif. The first four courses seemed to be cleared away and then immediately replaced. It was simply too fast to enjoy. We addressed it, and it improved somewhat. Overall, we didn't like this aspect. The service was very attentive and well-coordinated. However, not everyone was positive and attentive to the guests. One lady in particular failed to smile or engage in any interaction – her plate was simply set down and removed. The same thing happened when clearing the table. Other colleagues were much better. Overall, great food in a great location, but unfortunately, not a completely complete experience.

We had a wonderful dinner at Il Desco during our visit to Verona. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only very attentive but also radiated genuine hospitality and professionalism. The dishes were everything you’d expect from a fine dining experience – beautifully presented, creatively composed, and incredibly well balanced in flavor. Each course felt like a small journey through the culinary world, reflecting both precision and imagination.

A Refined Prelude to the Opera My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Il Desco before attending Nabucco at the Arena di Verona, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. If you're planning to dine before the opera, I highly recommend reserving the pre-show dinner seating at 18:30 to ensure a timely and relaxed arrival. Tucked away on a quiet side street not far from Casa di Giulietta, Il Desco is a gem hidden in plain sight. The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the refined interior—an elegant blend of historical architecture and modern sophistication. The building itself exudes the authentic charm of old Verona, creating a welcoming and memorable atmosphere. Our evening began with a refreshing glass of rosé champagne, setting the tone for what turned out to be an outstanding culinary experience. The dinner was masterfully prepared, with each dish showcasing thoughtful composition, balanced seasoning, and beautifully arranged ingredients. A heartfelt thank you to the chef and the attentive staff—every member of the team contributed to making this dinner one of the highlights of our trip. Il Desco offered not just a meal, but an experience—a perfect prelude to a night at the Arena. We will certainly return on our next visit to Verona.

Al planificar nuestros viajes a Italia busco experiencias gastronómicas. Reservamos una reserva para este comedor con meses de antelación (fiesta de 3 ). Llegamos a la hora indicada para nuestra reserva y nos recibieron y sentaron. Se recomienda reservar con este establecimiento. Se ofrecen tres menús fijos para la mesa y si ninguno de ellos se considera adecuado, puede elegir 3 , 4 o 5 opciones de degustación de platos en el menú ala carta. Para esta noche construimos una opción personalizada de menú degustación de 5 platos a partir del menú a la carta. Cada curso fue chapado fabulosamente y descrito apasionadamente por nuestros servidores. Todos los servidores se ocuparon de destacar la preparación e inspiración a la hora de presentar los cursos. Cada curso presentado fue exquisito y se consumieron tan apasionadamente como se presentaron. Todos fueron excelentes. Nuestras selecciones de menú no habían incluido "el huevo". Cuando el curso llegó a nuestra mesa llegó cumplidos del Chef. Querían que experimentáramos una de las especialidades de la casa. Feliz de que lo hicieran ya que resultó ser uno de mis favoritos de la noche. Todo el mundo era absolutamente fabuloso en este comedor. When planning our trips to Italy I look for dining experiences. We booked a reservation for this dining room months in advance (party of 3). We arrived at the designated time for our reservation and were warmly greeted and seated. Reservations with this establishment are recommended. Three set menus for the table are offered and if none of them are deemed suitable, you can choose 3, 4 or 5 course tasting options from the ala carte menu. For this evening we built a custom 5 course tasting menu option from the ala carte menu. Each course was plated fabulously and described passionately by our servers. All servers made a point of highlighting the preparation and inspiration when presenting the courses. Every course presented was exquisite and they were consumed as passionately as they were presented. All were excellent. Our menu selections had not included "the Egg". When the course arrived at our table it came compliments of the Chef. They wanted us to experience one of the house specialties. Happy they did as it turned out to be one of my favourites of the evening. Everyone was absolutely fabulous at this dining room. The staff was busy but was always attentive and extremely accommodating. This was an excellent evening. Thank you to all. We recommend this dining room

Service: • Excellent! Attentive and polite, but not intrusive. Food: We opted for the self-assembled menu. The food was good, some dishes were even very good. However, that's to be expected in this price range. Compared to other one-star restaurants, however, I've had better. The fish was sometimes cooked a bit too hard. Overall, the food was good, but honestly, I expected a bit more. We opted for the wine pairing with five glasses. However, I have to say that—given that it cost almost as much as the meal—it was a bit disappointing. Sometimes the glasses were very underfilled. What's also a shame: When you assemble the menu yourself, you always have to make the same selections for everyone at the table.
