Ristorante Il Caminetto In Cabras

I've known and frequented Il Caminetto for over twenty years, alone and/or with family, friends, and colleagues. Never a disappointment. It's one of those rare places where you can truly call it a restaurant professional, with a welcoming, family atmosphere and a consistently impeccable customer service. The cuisine is traditional Sardinian, particularly that of the Sinis region, but there are also excursions into Italian cuisine. The ingredients are always excellent. The octopus salad, mullet, eels, oziadas (a type of pasta), mussel and clam soup, and many of the first courses are excellent. But it's easy to find high-quality catch of the day: monkfish, sea bass, eels, John Dory, and more. It's a restaurant for those who love and know how to eat well, and for those who can't afford to make a bad impression on their guests. Don't listen to those runaways who slander it just to make themselves look good. Either they're competitors or they're real or perceived snobs who go to the restaurant to post photos of the place and the dishes and can't tell a fish from a wild boar. The only real problem with this restaurant will be when the owner retires, a well-deserved one at that. That's when we'll have one less excellent restaurant and one more nasty regret. It's a shame they almost gave up their best. Wow!!!! We ate well, but in the end they noticed that at the tables near us they were offering Sardinian sweets at the end of the meal, I repeat, at all the tables!!!!!!! They forgot about us!!!! We were a group so we paid a lot!!!!!! We were disappointed!!!!! A little more attention!!!!!!

Renowned restaurant, but not exactly good value for money. Portions could be reconsidered.

If you want fresh, honest, authentic, and delicious fish, stop here. Everything is just right, and the price-performance ratio is perfect. Thanks a million.

We wanted to try the Malloreddus alla Campidanese, and it was definitely worth it: delicious, plentiful, and they even brought us pecorino cheese to grate to our heart's content! The staff were friendly, a little hectic, but helpful. Wide variety of dishes, reasonable prices.

The staff is very professional and attentive to customer needs...excellent quality. Highly recommended!!

Great food with all the fish specialities local and other regional recipes from Sardinia, highly recommend a visit if you are a fish lover. We will be back.

Excellent food even if the dishes are a little small

I have been having lunch in this restaurant for 23 years, it is 08/31/2025 for my birthday I couldn't not have lobster because at Renzo's.....al camino is always a guarantee,, thanks to his professionalism, and thanks to all the staff..... They always make you feel at home not just a restaurant, but a big family, they always make us feel like in their home, the place is always tidy not to mention the clean smell that you feel as soon as you enter the place...., thanks again we will see you soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏 Special thanks to Giuseppe.

Il ristorante ha perso un punto per ka Seadas ( qualità davvero mediocre) e un punto per la risposta del cameriere alla nostra domanda "nell'antipasto misto potremmo avere solo ciò che non ha aglio o cipolla?". La sua risposta " cipolla non ce n'è. E aglio solo un pò nella burrida,ma è buona". Ovviamente la cipolla c'era. Peccato.
